Forced into hiding after their kidnapping plan goes awry, two rival siblings, David (Andy Serkis - The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith - Shaun of the Dead), find themselves fighting for their sanity while they hole up in a secluded country cottage. Weighed down by a hostage who refuses to stay quiet, or tied down, they are soon held captive by their own victim. But everyone's problems go from bad to worse when the story veers into Tobe Hopper inspired territory! This film was a Netflix recommendation. I ticked it off because of some of the member's positive reviews and I am glad I did. The movie starts off as a caper film with quirky, subtle comedic overtones and as things begin to get progressively worse for the two brothers, the plot becomes more devilishly convoluted, and then veers off into something from TCM '74. You can surmise what transpires during the last act of the film by looking at he DVD cover art, but I shan't give away any more plot details, suffice to say, rent this. Now.

We rented this one awhile back, I also really enjoyed it. Good, gory mix of horror and comedy.

I almost bought this in my latest order but decided on some others. I'll buy it soon though sounds good. For the right price, its worth a buy. Especially for the mayhem of the final act! We rented this one awhile back, I also really enjoyed it. Good, gory mix of horror and comedy. Indeed, all of the genre elements blended quite nicely. Seems the Brits have got that formula down pat, i.e. Shaun of The Dead.

I didn't realize it had comedy elements which only makes me want to see it more. And $3 used (which it is) is the right price for me! I'm gettin it next paycheck.

I hope it's better than The Devils Chair, I didn't care for that one so much.

Did not see the Devils chair. However, I think you will enjoy the Cottage!

Just as good on the second viewing. Great horror comedy! And the gore looks even better with fully opened eyes!
