Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (released in Japan as Godzilla × Mothra × Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.) is a 2003 kaiju film directed by Masaaki Tezuka. It is the sequel to 2002's Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla; the only film in the Millennium Godzilla series to be a sequel to another film in the same series. It was the twenty-seventh film to be released in the Godzilla series. It is the 12th film to feature Mothra, the 5th and latest film to feature Mechagodzilla, and the 2nd film to feature Kamoebas
This is yet another fantastic Godzilla film, if only the millennium series could have ended with this film rather then what it really ends with, which I have a feeling isn't going to be very good. The last phase of the Godzilla franchise is very uneven, with 4 very good films and three really terrible ones. The special effects in this one are really impressive, the visual effect of Godzilla's atomic breath looks so cool, the rest of the visuals are top notch, they look just as good as they did in the last film.
The voice over acting is very good, a million times better then they were in the film released two years before.
Digital effects are used once again with the Mothra character for his flying, this time however the effects are very good and realistic.
The plot isn't that intricate as its a sequel of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, released the year before, and therefore it simply carries on from there. The action still holds you, its very effective and there is a lot of it. This film has a lot of fight scenes in it, which in fact take up much of the film, certainly not a bad thing as the effects are phenomenal and keep you interested.
One thing that is sort of odd is the appearance of the 4 inch twins from Infant island, Mothra was featured in the last film but the two young woman do not appear and they are not mentioned, and so it seems a little strange that they just show up in this film. They certainly are the hottest 4 inch twins to show up in a Godzilla film...........
Oh sorry wrong picture
5 out of 5 roars for this one
