Okay, here is a thread that I feel will be fun (and useful for me!) for you guys to take part in, if you choose.
Okay, the story, I am aiming for brevity here:
Every October I take one day and watch horror films for twenty-four hours straight. However, I always have trouble developing a suitable list and mix of films.
That's where you come in!
Your charge is to develop a list, 24 hours in runtime, that YOU would like to view on such an occasion. Post it here, and hopefully you will give me some awesome ideas!

24 hours straight? Wow, I miss the days that I could do that. Lately, I settle for one or two a week
But I will definitely think on it and throw you a suggestion or two

Yes, I too am reaching the time when I fear I no longer will be able to swing such a tradition anymore.
But hey, one last hurrah for youth, right?
Anyways, whenever you get around to it, suggestions will be great!

24 hours straight?? I admire your dedication.... I usually celebrate all month long, I pretty much watch nothing but horror films during October. But its usually only two or three a day maybe.... these are the ones I am planning to watch for SURE this year..... Pumpkinhead (every year) Halloween (every year) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre ('74) The Black Cat ('34) An American Werewolf in London Freaks ('32) Psycho ('60) The Evil Dead Evil Dead 2 Suspiria A Nightmare on Elm Street Sleepy Hollow The Mist Others that I hope to get to: Night of the Living Dead ('68) Dawn of the Dead ('78) Carnival of Souls ('62) Black Sunday ('60) Black Sabbath ('63) Night of the Demons ('88) Hell Night Terror Train The two NEW releases I am looking forward to that I hope will be released by October or earlier.... Trick 'r Treat Drag Me to Hell

I'd say the following if I were doing it:
Zombie 2 The Beyond Friday the 13th The Evil Dead Evil Dead 2 Army of Darkness Halloween (either version is acceptable) A Nightmare on Elm Street The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Horror of Dracula Dawn of the Dead Poltergeist Christine
Now, let's see if I did the math right:
One film, on average, is an hour and a half, so two equals three hours. Eight sets of which equal twenty-four hours, requiring sixteen films to reach the limit. Though, with six of that coming from the last three films being a full two hours each, you'd need eighteen hours combined from the previous entries to reach the mark, and depending on the Halloween version you watch, mission accomplished.

Freaks is a great suggestion Jen. Saw it recently for the 1st time and it wAs wonderfully creepy! Oh, yes, its very creepy. My dad recommended it to me years ago, when I was a teenager, and I actually tracked down a VHS copy. I watched it with a friend of mine that I don't think ever got over the trauma... Its been a favorite of mine ever since.

I had known about it for years but hadn't seen it, and finally caught it on one of the classic movie channels. The pinheads are the creepiest! One of us!

I think I'll say you should go with a nice brew of old time classics, 70' exploitation and grindhouse stuff, and a bit of more modern fare trickled in where appropriate. I think that should feed all the major food groups, although some might say that I am going too light on 80's style slashers. Also, I hope I don't have to mention that I am always referring to the original if I don't specify. I will only specify if I am recommending a remake for some silly reason
Val Lewton's Cat People The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Freaks (good call, Jen) Blood Feast Rosemary's Baby Repulsion Psycho Last House on the Left Texas Chainsaw Massacre Dawn of the Dead The Hills Have Eyes The Crazies CAnnibal Holocaust Suspiria Halloween A Nightmare on Elm Street A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Braindead (Dead Alive) The Shining THe Cemetary Man The Mist
And for the title alone, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter
