Which Alien movie did you find to be the best?
I for one went with Aliens.

I also went with Aliens, though I am a big fan of the original as well. 3 and Resurrection wre pretty crappy, though

Ditto Aliens, though I love all of them with the exception of Resurrection. The extended 2003 cut of Alien 3 is actually IMHO a far better version than the theatrical release. Aliens still scares me after all these years... perhaps it's because the face huggers are arachnid-like. Shudder

Well, this thread's proved to be about as popular as an echidna in a balloon factory. Sorry to break the rules with back-to-back posts, but for those Aliens fans out there - at least those with all-region DVD players - here's a hot R4 special for you (and yes they ship OS). Prices are in A$. www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvds/id/82376

Alien-the King of post modern horror-sci-fi.
Scott's visual style and Geigers work are brilliant. Top flight cast too. Don't get much better.
While Aliens was great, but I consider it more of an more of an action flick.

Yes, but also terrifying in parts (the med lab scene for starters), and a blessing for loving the original... the director's cut is fantastic IMHO.

Ah, many thanks!
Yes, the lab scene was tense, quite right!

Just been watching some of the director's cut from the box set. Wow! Best $A50 Toad has spent in ages...

Alien for me, followed by the extended cut of Alien 3 then Aliens (which I love, it just owes more to Starship Troopers (the book, which I also love) than Alien).

Aliens, only one I really like (3 is too dull, never seen Resurrection though have it on tape, and I find the original way too overrated and boring, plus Bava's Planet of the Vampires is a lot better, more fun and cheesier, making it more repeated on viewing demands)

Can't believe I have never posted in here. I actually think Alien and Aliens are equally good, but different. Alien is scarier though. And yet I do slightly prefer Aliens. Of course, that might have something to do with my infatuation with Michael Biehn. I didn't care for 3 or Resurrection. But I might give the third one another watch, see if my opinion changes.
