It isn't discrimination CK lol
If I post on my MySpace page that I "smoke mad joints and roll down the street sucking 40s," and I don't get a job . . . it isn't because of discrimination.
It's because I am an idiot.

And a lot of them do mate. The first thing we do at the paper when some shit goes down - a murder, horrificly fatal drink-driving event etc etc - is go and comb through Facebook, Myspace, Bebo etc to get as much background as possible on the names we have.
So some poor sap (a la Nick Cage in Con Air) get charged with manslaughter because he defended himself a bit too well and his Facebook page talks about his love of slasher films and lists Fight Club in his top 10 movies... that'll look good in front of a jury.

And Con Air is precisly the reason why I don't do any of that. Self-defense will be my answer, and if there's nothing out there that can pin-point it as something that could be pinned on what I enjoy in my spare time, then the better my defense.
That discrimination thing would be glorious, though. Would love to see how that's pulled off.

And a lot of them do mate. The first thing we do at the paper when some sh*t goes down - a murder, horrificly fatal drink-driving event etc etc - is go and comb through Facebook, Myspace, Bebo etc to get as much background as possible on the names we have. So some poor sap (a la Nick Cage in Con Air) get charged with manslaughter because he defended himself a bit too well and his Facebook page talks about his love of slasher films and lists Fight Club in his top 10 movies... that'll look good in front of a jury. That is actually an interesting question. At fist I was unsure as to whether it would be admissable, but I am pretty sure that I could get it admitted at least at trial. Keep in mind that the standard for criminal conviction in the US is beyond a reasonable doubt. I'm not saying that it is impossible to get a conviction on that basis, but realistically it should never get to the jury on that basis alone. If that was it, it would be thrown out by the judge. If there was more evidence, then a jury could reasonably consider that factor as well. As for what 7 said about discrimination, he is correct that its not discrimination, and that in some VERY selective circumstances there might be some legitimate interest in not hiring employees who admit to criminal behavior. Generally, though, I do think that its unreasonably intrusive to do that sort of research for average run of the mill jobs. And where did my story from Pissing in the Shower go? I went back because I forgot what you were talking about and just realized the story that I must've told. THat was very funny stuff

:PBunch of babies!!!!! LOL....I'm very careful about what I post about myself, on forums or on Myspace, Facebook, etc so honestly I don't even worry about that kind of thing. Of course, I really am every bit as boring as I appear to be so that helps.
