I gave this a four. One of my favorites in the series. The humor is great and the kills are creative. My favorite is the sheriff being "Bent Backwards And Broken"(Cannibal Corpse were definitely inspired by that particular kill). The scene with Cort explaining to the kids the Indian stones is hilarious and Alice Cooper's song Man Behind The Mask is awesome.

Because of the fact that you mentioned the song title, you get a blessing (which shouldn't be that surprising) but I love the scene and album too.

i enjoyed this one , even though you knew the story you just waited to see if there were going to be any original kills . i think if jason had gone on a ickle kid massacre it would have been sooooo much better and unexpected .

“Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives” is one of the best entries in the series. I agree totally It's up there with parts 1 and 4 in my book, the last truly great friday the 13th movie. And the Alice Cooper theme song makes it even better

Finally the series heads back to the fun the earlier films had.

I gave it a 3. I think it's hurt substancially by the childish humor, a lot of the acting (especially from sheriff Garris - responsible for some of the worst line readings in the series - and deputy Rick, "wi'iv'r thi rid dot goes... yi bing!"), and the sex-comedy antics.
But I will say it is one of the most fun movies in the series, and it's scary as hell. I think the fun elements in these movies serve to make them scarier. Not because you laugh and that makes you more relaxed. I didn't think the humor in this movie made most people laugh (unless they were 5 years old at the time they first saw this). But because of the non-serious tone in the film. And because, I thought many of the characters were fun and very likeable. Especially the counselors- Megan, Cort, Sissy, and Paula. And Lizbeth has some good one-liners in the beginning.
Those scenes with Paula going in and out of cabins, trying to sleep, trying to find Sissy and Cort, with Jason lurking outside, then Jason lurking outside while Nancy couldn't sleep - were some of the scariest in the entire series. This movie really found a way to make Jason scary again (after the disaster that was The Final Chapter). "And how." The music hampered a few of these scenes (this is Manfredini at his worst, must have been doing this and House back-to-back). But overall, this entry was the first to effectively mysticize Jason. He could be anywhere. And regardless of how manipulative that was, parts 6, 7, and 8 made it work. Whether you thought of him as a zombie or not.
Mostly, this earns my 3 because the night scenes are so good. Which they are.

There is some good suspense in here, from the assault on the cabins at the end, but I rather enjoy the humor. It's goofy, fits right in with the tone, and makes me laugh at times, which is what is intended. Another highly underrated effort in the series, hurt mainly by the grandness of what came before it.

I gave this one a 3, its not the worst in the series but not the best either. Some of the comedy was just a little much for my taste like the paintball stuff and the triple decapitation. That and the fact that they changed the name from Crystal Lake to Forest Green just made me scratch my head.
