Other than the first one, this is my favorite of the series. I actually think it is a stronger film than the second one. Some of the best kills, and action, of any of the movies. It doesn't even come close to touching the original obviously, but it is definitely a fun slasher film. 4/5.

It's very good. I'll give it 4/5. I find this movie to be quite exciting and entertaining. Much better than anyone so far.

It's one of my favorites, so I wouldn't go that far, but it's damn entertaining, agreed.

I like this one the most, with the exception of Resurrection.

Well, how about some reasoning. It's one of my favorites, so what did you really like about it.

I just love the story and it has some nice killings. Also, it has a chilling ending.

I gave it a 2. It was a monster-bore.

I'm a big fan of this one. The early confrontation between Loomis and Michael in the gas station is deftly handled and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, particularly when the musical cue kicks in. Also I love the way Haddonfield is portrayed as a deeply traumatised town. It feels like a well rounded character that is sadly lacking in the subsequent sequels. 4

This film always leaves me close to speechless. I never really know what to say. So to be fair, I may have quick-judged it. I usually just say how I feel at the moment.
It's definitely overrated. But it's a little better than a 2. Wouldn't quite give it a 3 though. So, I'm sticking with my first rating.

Definitely one of the quality sequels in the series. As GP said, the town is better than you would expect, gets a lot of creepy tones and provides plenty of slashing. Certainly enjoyable for that type.

I just didn't think it was much fun. It was a bit scary, if you watch it right. But no real fun. Bogged down too much by serious relationship elements. And Kathleen Kinmont's "bitch" performance was more annoying than anything else. I remember thinking- what the hell is her problem?

For me this was the last really decent Halloween movie, the opening scenes of the town were very eerie especially with Alan Howarth's extremely effective score.

For me, Halloween H20 was (at least) 3 times better than this sequel.
