Yeah I didn't like Alchemist, Celestial Crown, Dusk, Evoken, don't like Funeral doom much, but Godgory on the other hand were fu**ing bad ass, can't wait to hear more from them.
Asphyx was awesome too, for the first three albums, but after that they sort of degenerated into a cliche death metal band, and lost all their originality IMO.

Godgory was another one I was hoping you'd like, another one of my favorites.
The thing is that I like Funeral Doom in spurts, not all the time, so there's moments where I don't know why I'm listening to them, while others are they feel right to me.
Considering now what I know what you're tastes are, check out Infester. Pretty old-school sounding stuff, they're really good and just such a shame they didn't put out a lot.

Since you posted on the Death Metal list, listen to the song I put up with the Hypocrisy review. It's one of the best songs on the album, and within seconds you'll fall in love with the album.
And I've been a fan of most of those you listed as well for a long time, Xasthur, Secrets of the Moon, OMC and Insomnium especially.

Oh I'm sure Ill love the new album, I'm a big Hypocrisy fan, probably my favorite straight forward death metal band, although they tend to go between death and black, what they use to call Blackened Death Metal.

Yeah, though I've always found a lot more Dissection influence in them over Behemoth, which I call a Black/Death Metal band. Hypocrisy is a lot more mellow and melodic than them.
