I agree, I like how it picks up right where Halloween left off, the chase is on!
The gore is ramped up, which is ok, but I felt that Halloween was soo successful on many levels and that the added gore only cheapened the film as a whole. Certain gore scenes were well-done, but others were hoary and extraneous.
Overall, a four and it was the first R-rated film I was allowed to see in the theater.
That experience was alone was priceless.

Yea, I agree. The gore could have been toned down to create an even more similar atmosphere to the first, but I still like it the way it is.

I'm not a gore-hound, only really dig gore full on in Zombie films. But, H2 was a product of the times and those times, gore was in. I still groove on H2 big time.

Let's keep this at Halloween 2 gentlemen. Fork that into another thread.

Hey we didn't really go off topic. That was one post agreeing with another one. If someone had responded to my post about zombie gore , then it would have qualified as off topic. lol

I wasn't calling off-topic on zombie gore. I was calling it off-topic for the fact that you were talking about gore in films for four consecutive posts. That qualifies as off-topic.

Better than the origional. It has some fun kills and a really good ending. There's some nice blood too. I'll give this a 4/5.

I prefer the original over this one, but it's still one of the better films of the time. Back when it was about making a serious film rather than paradying to the fan-boys (which, ironically, I like more than the original two) but big deal.

I'm afraid that I think that this film is the weakest of the series. It's not awful but I don't really find it exciting or fun to watch. 3/5.

Don't be afraid to voice you're opinion. That's what we're here for. You just happen to be in the minority, that's all.
And I still think it's one of the best entries. More kills, lots of violence, and some creepy, impressive scenes. Not a classic but an upper-tier entry at the least.

It's a sleazy movie... But it's also one of the best in this (not very good) franchise. Stylistically, it has good cinematography, it has a great creepy feel to it, we get to see Michael Myers' eyes here (and they're freaky). It somewhat effectively manages to mix backstory with the characters, so it's not as dumb as the other slasher films that are just about T&A.
I gave it a 3. The acting could be better, the writing needs work, and there's more focus on T&A here than on those things. But, we do get a little here. It works only with the style.

I like it when the floor of Laurie's hospital room is drenched in blood and the guy slips.

I'm still trying to decide why the one scene warrants it being named sleazy. There's some out there that have a lot more than this one, and this one isn't in the slightest bit sleazy compared to some of the others out there.

I agree GL although the scene itself is the film as a whole i dont consider to be sleazy at all, the Halloween series never has been .... well up until last year anyway....
