And about Ozzy's albums it should be known that Ozzy didn't even write those first 3 or so albums, they were all written by he bass player, who after those first few albums was paid on the side to write albums, Ozzy just put the face, which obviously is important, no one can doubt that he is one of the greatest lead men in Matel. Besides Metal has never been about how good you sing, sure there are great Metal singers, but there were also some who remain Metal gods even though they weren't the best vocalists in the world. It is certainly true that Bob Daisley deserves much of the credit for those records. It is also true that one of the most valid complaints against Ozzy is the way that he treated those who worked with him, up to and including re-recording the bass and drum parts on those albums in order to screw over his side men. Totally unacceptable, and I have limited respect for Ozzy as a man. Ozzy as a performer and pioneer of the genre, however, can never be denied (as you have also acknowledged). I think our take on this is pretty similar, save the fact that I don't like Ronnie James Dio at all. It is GL whose point of view is shocking to me. [/quote]

To me, I've never seen anything from Ozzy that made him stand-out. His music never really appealed to me in the past, his singing never did anything, and his two bands weren't that great. To me, it's almost more about his legacy and longevity that has kept him in this kind of situation than anything regarding talent, and talent is the main area with which I determine whether or not I listen to you. I have found none in Ozzy's work in the past, therefore I don't think he's all that good.

Really? You don't have any love for songs like Sicide Solution, Mr. Crowley, or Bark at the Moon?
No love for the Sabbath classics too numerous to mention? I guess I just don't really understand that view.

Yeah thats a little too extreme for even me, and believe me when I say a point of view concerning Metal music is too extreme, you can bet its extremely extreme.

Supernaut is pure genius. Ozzy is an utter twat for how he treated and continues to treat Bob Daisley and others. When he's married to the daughter of Don Arden, one of the biggest crooks in the history of British rock managers, it's perhaps not altogether surprising. The shit-apple certainly did not fall far from the shit-tree.

Really? You don't have any love for songs like Suicide Solution, Mr. Crowley, or Bark at the Moon? No love for the Sabbath classics too numerous to mention? I guess I just don't really understand that view. Bark is okay, but I don't need to hear it all the time or else I get tired of it due to his vocals. Over the Mountain is tolerable, but I heard the cover version a Black Metal band from Finland called Gloomy Grim did for a Tribute album first, even though I like Ozzy's version better. The only other song from him that is somewhat listenable is The Ultimate Sin because I like that pounding intro, but otherwise I don't really listen to him enough to really care about his songs, so if I know they're from him, I turn it off. As for Sabbath, they're too slow for me to stay interested. I think it's pretty telling when I find the only good song in their repertoire is because of a cover done by Rob Zombie, another artist I'm not all that fond off. It was Children of the Grave done for one of those Nativity in Black tributes that appeared in the mid-90s, but I don't know which one it was and I frankly don't care. That is the sole time I've ever been interested in listening to a Sabbath song from beginning to end.
