But thats a thousand a year for unlimited tv phone and internet. That in this day and age is extremely cheap.

a thousand dollars is a thousand dollars no matter how you look at it, and that's not cheap to watch television. It's not easy to earn a thousand dollars, Kevin. I would hardly call it extremely cheap especially considering the arbitrary price. Cable in fact has no inherit value, and the cable companies profit off of other people's efforts, namely the television studios. The cable companies are essentially gate keepers that set their own prices in a monopolized industry.
So no, Kevin, a thousand dollars is not extremely cheap. Go out and see how long it takes you to earn a thousand bucks and then we'll talk.

I've heard AT&T uverse is a tad cheaper, but Im still currently getting ripped off by Time Warner Cable. It's over $100 per month for just cable and Internet, no phone, premium channels or anything. Oh yeah, DVR costs my an extra $10 a month and we have 3 boxes, but damn it adds up. Granted I'm only paying half, but shit.
I can only hope that in the not so distant future when all televisions have Internet capabilities, cable will be streamed for cheap or better yet free. Yeah I know that won't happen but a man sometimes needs to dream dammit.

I personally have taken the money that I would spend on DVR and spent it on HBO and Encore. I did that because I already have access to On Demand service, which comes pretty close to letting me watch what I want when I want to. Sure it would be nice to record sports and stuff to watch later sometimes, but for the most part I can make myself available when the games I really want to see are on

Not a bad idea HNT. My lease is up at my aprtment this summer and I'm moving out so I'll probably do it differently next time. Won't bother changing it this late tho.
