After watching the entire TCM series this weekend I feel the TCM sequels (aside from TNG) blow the F13 sequels away. And TCM 2 was really the only comedy one so there's no reason you wouldn't like 3.

You're welcome to your opinion but that's what it is, an opinion. Certainly not a fact. My opinion is that while I enjoy them, the F13 sequels are not "good" by any stretch of the imagination. Neither are the TCM sequels either but I enjoyed them much more.
I think the discrepancy is that the original TCM was a super well made classic. So anything that came after was bound to be a letdown if viewed with high expectations. On the other hand, the original F13 was pretty bland and while some horror fans may consider it a classic today, I've never heard anyone argue it's as good or well made as the original TCM. So the sequels were more par for the course than a letdown. In fact I feel the first 3 F13 sequels improve upon the original, but again that's because the bar was pretty low. This is just my opinion, but I feel it's a well thought out one that is based on all the films. Yours seems to be based heavily if not wholly on the first 5 minutes of one film?

Nor would I ever make such an argument. Nor could anyone make the argument that the TCM sequels had more influence on 80s horror then the Friday franchise did. That is so, but to me that's all it deserved, and seeing as it wasn't going to all of a sudden become serious after that, it was a fair assumption that it wasn't going to get any better. I'm simply not going to watch something if I do don't like it, just for the sake of making of an in-dept comparison between two franchises. What would be the point, I still won't like TCM2. Good points though. Both of you. Of course if this were some other person I know they would take this all personally and threaten to close the forum if everyone didn't think exactly the same way. OK next debate: Jason and Leatherface, who would kick whos ass

Don't worry I wouldn't take this discussion too seriously it's all in good fun, glad we can agree on that. And I respect your opinion. Nor would I ever make such an argument. Nor could anyone make the argument that the TCM sequels had more influence on 80s horror then the Friday franchise did. Well that's true but also a bit unfair as TCM only had a single film that came out in the 80's (TCM 2) compared to how many F13s? I would also argue that influence doesn't necessarily equal quality. F13's influence may have had a lot to do with people wanting to cash in on the slasher craze. I can understand the first 5 minutes of a film ruining that film for you. I just don't think it should condemn future sequels like 3 for example which is much darker. With that said, I have also avoided future sequels of a franchise due to previous bad ones so I guess I can't really fault you there.

Hmmm...
1. Unusually large and sudden infestations of tarantulas/cockroaches/ants/piranhas is never ,ever just a part of the natural cycle despite what the dweebie biologists say. Run!
2. The larger a woman's breasts are the more likely it is she wont live to collect her 401.
3. The more preppie/private school her wanker boyfriend is relates directly to how early he will feature in the body count.
4. Always, always listen to the wizened old grey dude who tells you that you are doomed. Fuck off and book in to the nearest Hilton.

Ghosts have terrific property advisor's.The always haunt the best houses. Oh, man. I can't believe I never noticed that. You hardly ever see them haunt some one-bedroom shack with exposed wiring, mold-infected walls, rat stains on the floor and no plumbing. I really need to pay more attention to what they haunt in the future, might be the perfect place to sublet once they're gone. My lesson: If you're going camping in the desert, always bring more than one machete. There's a good chance several members of your party will need them at the same time.

Mobile(cell to you guys) phone carriers should invest in bigger and better towers and satellites,as they are putting many lives at risk with their limited signals.

Id choose getting my ass poked with Satan's greasy prick while forced to listen to Britney Spears music for all eternity. So, since that wasn't really an option presented to you and you selected it for yourself, is it safe to say that this is more of a fantasy than a punishment? Noty to mention, since hell is supposed to be eternal suffering, wouldn't you anticipate that satan would not lubricate his "greasy" prick and instead force you to take it dry?

It won't be as cool when ancient prophecies are found on dusty old Kindles instead of books.

Don't let somebody surgically connect your mouth to someone's anus. And I'm truly thankful for this knowledge because that sort of situation could always be around the corner.
