Did anyone else watch this in the 90's? I loved it as a kid. Need to get it on dvd and rewatch it, it's been ages.

I would watch it when it was on and the rerurns when I find them. I loved the show. The music, the voice acting, the animation it was all perfect. All the voices actually sounded like how I would imagine them as a kid, including The Joker. My favorite episode was the baby doll episode, true she was a one shot character, but she was such a tragic character, I think more tragic than Mr. Freeze. The animated movie ( aka Mask Of the Phantasm) was also one of the best animated movies I have ever seen. I didn't really like the redesigns in the later seasons except for The Scarecrow, who looked scary. So scary in fact that parents wrote to WB kids claiming that the character's new voice ( by none other than Jeffrey Combs aka The Re-Animator.) and design gave their children nightmares so the character would only appear again in the series as a cameo without a voice.
But this series is the best representation of Batman. It shows the tragedy, the darkness, but also the fact that he is a human, we understand without it being bashed into our heads why he does what he does. Like the films do these days. This show was brilliant and I am sad that such good animation is no longer present on TV.

Well said man.
Conroy and Mark Hamill were so great. And Hamill really loved playing Joker as a lifelong comic book and Batman fan.

An interesting note was that Hamill initially wasn't the voice of the Joker, in a test pilot of " Christmas With The Joker" ( the first appearance of Joker on the show) Joker was voiced by Tim Curry. Though they didn't like his voice direction too much, Hamill heard of a Batman cartoon needing a Joker voice so he auditioned and got the part. Hamill's mannerisms and physical actions while doing the voice acting was actually incorporated into the show. And aside from Victor Zsasz ( who was fairly new in the comics at the time the show aired) and Black Mask, nearly every major Batman villain appeared on the show.
Also, another interesting note was that Danny Elfman ( who scored the first two Batman films) scored the opening theme to the show.

I got it don't worry.
Though I do like how this show gave an origin for Mad Hatter and Mr. Freeze. Both of which have been added to the character's history in the comics.

Yeah the Mr. Freeze stuff was great. Paul Dini wrote that, he also created Harley Quinn who got added to the comic universe.

But Mike Mignola who made Hellboy, designed Mr. Freeze's suit hence why it's retro looking lol. God I loved the animated series.
