I'm gonna think on this for a while. I am pretty sure it's gonna be impossible for me to answer this at all but the best that I can poissibly do is limit myself to a favorite from each individual musical genre. Otherwise, I would find this to be completely impossible

Did you really just rate Corpsegrinder as better than Chris Barnes, GL? I am surprised

I like Barnes better, but his band Six Feet Under isn't that great. I use to be into SFU a little when I was first getting into DM, but I don't like em much anymore.

Did you really just rate Corpsegrinder as better than Chris Barnes, GL? I am surprised I do. He's much faster, goes a lot deeper, and sounds much more angrier than Barnes does. The fact that he can sing a song like "Severed Head Stoning," "Purification by Fire," or "The Undead Will Feast" at impossible speeds while still retaining a growl that is completely indecipherable is a major feat. I tried it a couple times, and can't get anywhere near his range. Barnes I can get a lot easier. His new project, Torture Killer (100 points for guessing where they got their name from) is a nice return to his style on The Bleeding, but George is a much better singer. The earlier records are pretty decipherable with repeated listens and singing along with the liner booklet, while the later releases are harder to keep up with. In terms of importance to the genre, no doubt Barnes is more important, and I would honestly vote for him over George in a second, but as a singer, George gets my vote.

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought that decipherable lyrics was a negative trait for a song, lol

Death Metal: Band: Cannibal Corpse Singer: Chuck Schuldiner(Death) Black Metal: Band: Dimmu Borgir singer: Vortex(Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar, Arcturus) Power Metal: Band: Iced Earth Singer: Hansii Kusch(Blind Guardian, Demons and Wizards) Thrash: Band: Slayer Singer: Tom Araya(Slayer) Goth Metal Band: Type O Negative Singer: Peter Steele(Type O Negative) Excellent choices all. I fogot about Vortex, I really like his approach. May have to think about that one a little more and maybe think about changing it. And HNT, indeciperable lyrics are the cornerstone of DM. If you can't spend some amount of time trying to figure out what they're saying, then I don't really call that DM. And Judas Priest aren't Thrash, just regular Metal. Big difference between them and groups like Slayer, Overkill, and Anthrax.

I use to be into SFU a little when I was first getting into DM, but I don't like em much anymore. Yeah same here. They are a few songs by them that are still very high in my favorite death metal songs. Like The Day The Dead Walked, and Revege of the Zombie.
