Yea, I love the Crucifucks man. They are great. I'll check out Biafra and the Melvins.
Some other bands I really like are Discharge, Flux Of Pink Indians, Crass, Kegcharge, Leftover Crack, Choking Victim, Oi Polloi, Reagan Youth, Tragedy, Witch Hunt, MDC, Kuro (Japanese Punk), G.I.S.M. (Japanese Punk), Extinction Of Mankind, Poison Idea, The Pist, and Los Crudos (Spanish Punk).

Wow, I haven't heard someone name checking MDC, Poion Idea, and Reagan Youth in years. that's awesome, man.
Dave Insurgent was the man. It's such a shame what happened to him

An old classic (very cheap) Iron Maiden's Fear of the Dark
Also Sepultura's greatest hits and Pantera's Far Beyond Driven... both of which I confess are experiments because I normally can't get into - as hnt phrased it so well - ''cookie monster'' vocals, but we'll see.

Ewww Pantera. Some guy got his ass kicked at a punk venue in Minnesota I think not to long ago for wearing a Pantera shirt that had a confederate flag on it. I confess I use to listen to them though. After seeing the confederate flag and stuff on some of their shirts I stopped though.

Strewth I didn't realise that. I should have done a bit more research. Refuse to give perfectly good money to rednecks right-wingers.

Who gives a shit what is on their shirts, or on Dimebags guitars. They fucking rock!!!! Besides all the people who get upset about the stars and bars should look up the history of it. I will make it a point to wear my Pantera shirts even more now. I cant wait to wear it to Ozzfest which is free this year!!!!!!

I used to be a Pantera fan when I was just getting into music, but when I realized that the songs I thought sucked (Walk, This Love, I'm Broken, Cemetery Gates) are their most popular ones, I haven't given them much play time. I still have them, but they regularly get played.

The thing I know about the stars and bars was that it was the flag for the confederate states of america, which seceded from the U.S. because the threat that slavery would end. That is something I won't support, and won't waste my time with bands that do.

Well I am not trying to start an argument but there is a lot more to it than that. I didnt know till about a year ago the history of that flag goes deeper than just slavery. That however is the symbol most people choose to use for it. But read up on it I think youll find it interesting. www.pointsouth.com/csanet/confederate_flag.htmThere are other sites as well some are biased, but then again what isnt.

OK... Anyway I think on the previous board I asked for some advice on new metal. Being an old toad I am still stuck in the Iron Maiden and AC/DC groove, and can't come to grips with the likes of Cannibal Corpse or even Slayer very much. Any suggestions (again, sorry) people?
I should add that I gew up at the end of the punk era, and loved the likes of Dead Kennedys, The Damned and so forth.

I really think you should try this band called Nevermore. Lots of Maiden influences with some mind-blowing technicality and a real classy feel. Epic, melodic and more fantasy-inspired lyrics than dark and disturbing. I think you would like them.
I also got some stuff from LdC's BM sale:
Blood Ritual-Black Grimoire Enthroned-Regie Sathanas Mayhem-Grand Declaration of War Mayhem-European Legions NAttefrost-Terrorist

You got the rest of the BM stuff man. Toad also check out Amebix. Great crust punk band from the 80s that were heavily metal influenced.

Not really metal but i would suggest, Nekromantiks and Sydney's own Zombie Ghost Train, both double bass psychobilly outfits, heavily influenced by the Cramps. Seeing that you mentioned the Damned i feel like catching a Video Nasty right now.
