Fangoria just posted this news:
Filmmaker Jeff Broadstreet has announced that newly formed distribution comapany Midnight Movies Entertainment, Inc. will release his NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 3D in 1500 theaters nationwide on November 10, setting the record for the largest independent 3-D release in history. Based on the 1968 George A. Romero zombie classic and produced/directed by THE STRAUN HOUSE’s Broadstreet from a script by Robert Valding, the movie stars horror vet Sid Haig (pictured) along with Brianna Brown of HBO’s ENTOURAGE and newcomer Joshua DesRoches.
The film will premiere September 8 at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater in a special midnight screening, using the dual-projector “polarizing” technique. “The 3-D in this film is fun to watch and lacking the eyestrain found in other contemporary films,” promises dimensional-movie expert Dan Symmes. Midnight Movies’ Bob Myerson forsees a successful theatrical run for NOTLD 3D. “With the branded LIVING DEAD property and the 3-D experience, this film is positioned to scare up some serious box-office receipts,” he says. —Audrey Quaranta

Weird. Sig Haig is cool. That girl was only on one episode of Entourage and was only in it for like 4 total minutes, lol.

Mmmm, still don't know about the rumours that this is being pared back for a PG-13 - though given the wide theatrical release you fear the worst. How the *%#@ can you have PG-13 zombies?

I mthink this is looking really crappy. I hate remakes for the most part and this one appears even more pointless and unecessary than most. THe original NOTLD was one of the best horror films ever made. THe 1990 remake was pretty decent in its own right. THis just looks really crappy to me

I mean this movie could be halfway decent if they'd just make it an all new zombie flick and try to change it up a bit, but it just bugs me that they have to use the "Night of the Living Dead" name to try and draw the biggest audience possible and make the most money possible.

Yea. If it's playing in a theater near me when it opens then I don't care how bad it is. Im still going for the 3D effect. I'd love to see a horror film in 3D on the big screen.

Having seen Friday the 13th 3D, and Parasite also in 3D at the cinema when they were first released I'd argue definitely give it a whirl. 3D lends itself to super-sized blue-veined cheese. Great fun.
