Harry Griswold, a hapless NYC cop, undergoes a fantastic physical transformation to become the legendary Japanese hero, Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD! Armed with fatal sushi, heatseeking chopsticks and pyro projectile parasols, Sgt Kabukiman NYPD must learn how to use his Kabuki powers to save the Big Apple (and the Earth) from the evil one, all while filleting an array of baddies, from brutal pimps to Central Park rapists! Timely and satirical! Action packed and hilarious, with eye-popping special effects and hair raising fight sequences! This exclusive unrated edition of Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD comes fully stocked with unseen extras, such as the unreleased Sgt. Kabukiman cartoon and a director’s commentary by director Lloyd Kaufman!

3 from me. while this is one of Troma's most clever ideas for a film, it somehow doesn't translate into being quite as funny as it should have been. this film ranks firmly below Troma's best films, but is still watchable and pretty funny, making it a worthy offering

I probably would have given it a 3 also, but seeing as it was my first Troma film around the age of 8, I have it a 4.
