Something that I've always wondered, especially going through the Just Watched thread is how often do you revisit a film? Have you seen a favorite a couple dozen times, or do you prefer to just keep it in your collection and move on to something you've never seen before so you can widen your viewing base?

There are a small handful of horror films I just have to watch from time to time. Obvious ones are Dawn and Day of the Dead and The Keep. The film I've watched most in my life however is Kelly's Heroes. I reckon as a teenager I watched that baby over fifty times.

That would probably be Jaws, which I actually don't own oddly enough. But anytime it is on, I HAVE to watch it. I can't tell you how many times I have seen that film. Pumpkinhead is probably pretty high on the list as well at this point.

I've seen JAws more times than I can count. Back in about third or fourth grade, I remember watching it on Beta (yes I am that old) every single day. I have seen it hundreds of times.
The second most is probably the Exorcist. This was also when I was very young. Funny thing is, the tape that I had of it was recorded by my dad off of network TV so it was edited to hell. I didn't know that, though, cause I was just a kid. When I finally saw it uncut many years later, I was actually shocked by some of the language and gore. There ya go, to those of you who think that the Exorcist is not shocking, watch it edited and then see the real thing without realiing there is a difference

Realized I forgot mine: it would be Zombi 2, as I've seen it about 15 times so far. Seems small, but I rarely re-watch anything, so anything close to double-digits has a big claim to fame. Also, I see it every year on my birthday, and I have to watch the movie, then again with the commentary track on so I literally see it twice, and doing that for four years bumps up to 8 right there, and all the times I saw it when I first bought it count towards that total.
Non-horror, though, is easily the first Die-Hard. I saw that about ten times a day for one complete weekend (saw it, rewound the tape and saw it again, without stopping, for two complete days) and there's been plenty before and after that. I would bet that would be close to 100 times if I thought about it.

Horror for Toad would have to be Phantasm I and II, closely followed by Bad Taste, Dawn of the Dead and John Carpenter's Vampires... and The Thing.
Non horror would be Mad Max by daylight, followed by Apocalypse Now, Life of Brian and Starship Troopers.

Dawn of the Dead tops my list, even though I havent watched it in a while. Others are more like only at certain times. For example if I cant get to sleep I put on either Ghost Ship, or Event Horizon. If there is a decent snow storm in the winter it's The Shining. Or if I am in a festive mood a 12 pack of Corona and Club Dread. I never said I was normal.

Halloween 4 for me. Must have seen it 50 or more times. Probably watched it once a month age 12-16 and still watch it at least twice a year now as a grown man. And mind you, I have yet to upgrade this one to DVD so you can imagine how worn my VHS is.
Tied for second are other Halloween sequels H2, H666, and H20.

I'd have to say mine would be Friday the 13th. I've seen it over 100 times easy, I had it on whenever I did homework from the age of about 11 to 22.

That's a big one for me as well, I've seen that one about 10 times or so. Right up there at the top.
