I love a good retrospective doco, and thus far have enjoyed the Halloween: 25 Years of Terror and His Name Was Jason dvds. So I find myself eagerly anticipating the NOES look back, probably moreso than the remake. Here's a link to the site for more info www.elmstreetlegacy.com/

You said it Abraxas. I'm not a fan at all of this series, and this might be the last thing involving the original series until I die.

I'm looking forward to the Blu Ray release of the original ANOES early next month, but I suppose there's nochance this doco will be included. Then they wouldn't be able to release a special edition in three years to try and get everyone to repurchase it.

I picked up the original boxset when it was first released back around 2000 and haven't touched any other editions at all. I'm just not a fan enough of the series to say that I want more versions of the films in my collection.

Is your boxset VHS or DVD? I wouldnt upgrade to Blu Ray if I had it on DVD as I doubt the hd quality will be exceptional. But I don't own it on DVD and the original is one of my favorites. Haven't owned it since VHS and stopped using my VCR a year ago so I'm looking forward to it for those reasons.

DVD. It's the one where the spines form a picture of Freddy with his clawed-hand outstretched. I only had three of the films on VHS before I upgraded, but traded those in almost immediately after purchasing the box set.

Yeah that the same one I have too, if anyone is interested in getting it the price has come down incredibly. I got mine last year for $20.00 new, which is the only reason I bought it. I was looking to get the original on dvd and I figured why not buy the whole series for not even 10 dollars more.

Wow, that's actually not a bad price at all. I'd probably take it up, if I had the money to do so and didn't have them to begin with.

Not a big fan of the sequels myself, but if you are that is worth picking up for that price.

I actually wound up getting it used for $22 but still solid. Had to pay a little extra to get the original collection instead of the re-release that doesn't have the bonus features and was shamelessly repackaged to cash in on the remake coming out. My version has the bonus disk AND includes 3-D glasses to watch Freddy's Dead. I am psyched about that.
As far as quality, though, CT is right. Only the first and third are genuinely good movies

I personally love NOES 2 of all the sequels though.

Well, I've long held out that Part 2 has some solid, workable ideas in it, they just aren't executed well. The first 3 are definitely the ones that were the most inviting to me back when I cared to watch them, so there is more than two good films in the series.
