On another note, looks like the Yankees may sign Cliff Lee

yeah man, I'm with HNT.
I've moved dozens of times in my life and internationally at least four.
It sounds scary, but it is simple and refreshing.
Just pick a place. It's lonely in a new place for the first couple of weeks, but eventually you get to meet all sorts of new (and hopefully interesting) people.

On another note, looks like the Yankees may sign Cliff Lee HA! He went to the Mariners, and while he did get rocked for a loss, he still went the complete game.

RIP George Steinbrenner. Love em or hate em, Major League baseball was better because of what you did with the Yankees

RIP George. I actually didn't have too much of a problem with him, maybe his mindset but not the person. Truly a sad day for all New Yorkers and Yankee fans in particular.
And it looks like the streak is finally over! NL finally won one!

Steinbrenner dying seems like the end of an era for major league baseball in general, not just New York.

Well, the second half started yesterday, and although some didn't play, the rest will today.
So, where's your team at right now? You in the race or not? Let us know!

Honestly, now that the smoke has cleared, I am a bit more disgusted by him than you are. Frankly, although I'd have liked to have him on NY, the only decent deciison for him to make would have been to stay in Cleveland. The team was offering him the league maximum, and he was single handedly supporting the entire economy of his hometown, which also happens to be one of the most economically depressed cities in the country. Think about that, if you could both be a millionaire and do a lot to help Cincinatti become a better place to live, wouldn't you do it? Shouldn't we think less of anyone too selfish to try? And this whole idea tht I should have sympathy for him because he is "only" going to make $100 million dollars instead of $120 is simply repulsive to me. For God's sake, Cleveland has double digit unemployment and is full of desperate people. Absolutely shameful on his part. What an asshole. As a Knicks fan, it makes me even prouder to have had the opportunity to have watched a truly loyal and decent man in Patrick Ewing, who stayed loyal to our team and turned down other offers that probably would have netted him a ring just because he cared that much about our city. As for you, if you want out of Ohio, just do it man. Don't wait. Enroll in college, finish up, and be done with it. Moving sounds much scarier and harder than it really is. I agree bless you for that! Cincy is in the hunt and I'm cautiously optimistic. Most of the power rankings I've seen still have us ranked fairly low overall among the likely playoff bound teams..

I think the Reds will hold out, barring an unforseen injury in the second half. The rotation is strong, bolstered now by a returning Volquez who seems to have not missed a step, the pen is deep, the bench provides plenty of support and they match up on the starting eight with just about everyone, with plenty of speed, power and bat-handlers. You guys will stay in this one, CT, since they're still atop the division at the break, which is considered the benchmark for how good the team should be. If you're strong up to here, you've got a shot.
Me, I've got the two LA teams, and one looks good while the other needs to get on track. I like the Angels, they've done a great job handling the loss of Morales and several ineffective starters, Scoscia is one of the best in the game and I really think we've got a shot at the Rangers, even with Hamilton, Guerrero and Lee. It's the Dodgers I'm worried about, the one team I like more since I grew up with them, as they've been shut out far too much for my liking, have a terrible rotation and an overworked bullpen. Plus, Colorado will get hot and go on one of those runs again like they usually do and San Diego looks to be able to dominate them should they get that far. I don't like their chances.

Congratulations to Tampa Bay's Matt Garza for throwing the fifth no-hitter of the season and the very first of the Tampa Bay organization. It's been a long time coming, and they finally have one.
Now we just need to get the Mets and San Diego going and all 30 teams will then have one.

Phils are a half a game up over the Braves hopefully we can stay ahead of them all the remander of our games are in our division. But even if our bats hold up I dont see our pitching taking us to a 3rd World Series. But then again ya never know.

No goddamn comment. As usual, September is not a fun time to be a Mets fan. Thank God for football season
