Yeah, again, another copy and paste job from version 1. Only ED 2 is new, freshly written.

One of the funniest, most quotable movies ever in my opinion, but it can't touch the greatness that is The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2. I love it, don't get me wrong, but it didn't achieve the great balance of horror and comedy that the second one did (though to be fair, it didn't really try). But Bruce rocks my world....LOL... 4/5 from me.

Same here Jen. Great fun film, but pales a bit in comparison to the previous entries - almost Monty-Pythonesque in some parts. That said, it was far better than an attempt at just duplicating and rehashing what had gone before (ala Friday the 13th).

Yes, I also love this film, but have no choice but to acknowledge taht it falls well short of the impossibly high bar set boy the first two. At least Raimi has made ot clear that he had enough ideas left to justify making a hird film, as there is still plenty here to love

When I first saw this movie, it made me want to roar at the screen and put my foot through it. I own the Evil Dead Trilogy boxset. I have actually scribbled out the word trilogy and put The two Evil Dead Movies.

For defacing a Evil Dead case.

Well, the third one is an insult to the series, in my opinion.

Not at all. In IMHO iit s nowhere near an equal of the first two, but nor did the makers fall into the trap of trying to replicate them (a la countless other worn out over-sequelled franchises like F13 and Halloween). Instead they took a more satirical approach which I think worked well, given the dark humour that emerged in 2.
Give it another try with an open mind, without expecting pure horror, and you'll find it's a pretty neat little movie, with one of the livelier scripts of the time.

I will probably watch it again one day. I did like the battle sequence near the end but the origional ending to the film is better than the ending I have. And the best line in the movie isn't even in my version.
