A Translyvanian count's arrival in London coincides with a series of strange incidents with those around him, leading a famed doctor to realize that the work is done by a vampire and leads a team to stop him before he can claim more victims. What did everyone think of this one?

Greatest stage plays? Maybe. Greatest films? Not even close.

It gets a 4 on Lugosi's performance alone. I have to distinguish it from the far superior work that Todd Browning did with Freaks, as well as from the superior Karloff films from that era

I'll give it an official vote when it comes on TV, but I'm not even that generous. There's not a lot in this one that really warrants a whole lot of discussion, as you are right in that Browning and Karloff's work at the same time are just in a whole other league with this one it's not even close.

Well I give it a 5. It was very creepy with lots of memorable parts and some great performances. I Can only imagine that it would have blown peoples minds back then. I'm not saying that it's any better than Freaks because that's a 5 from me as well.

I'm going 2 actually, people remarking about crap off-screen we can't see isn't much of anything worth remembering in a horror film. Since I know have somewhat of an idea about acting, I did notice that in here, but there was a slight problem: I don't watch films for acting prowess. If I did that, I'd be watching everything nominated for Academy Awards, which I don't. As a horror film, this one has acting talent, which I have no use for, but I'll bow to conventions and put it in the vote, hence the 2. If I didn't care about it, this would've gotten a 1.
