I'm not sure about placement of these even after seeing them, they seemed like Fantasy films to me though I could see where you could call them horror films though I'll probably never will.
Set in an alternate reality where supernatural creatures are real and part of everyday society, the two races are controlled in a truce by governing bodies for each: The Day Watch ensures the good beings stay true to the pack, the Night Watch makes sure the once-evil creatures never stay back to their roots.
All seems fine until a mystical prophecy foretelling the arrival of a being that will lead to the end of one race starts coming true, and both sides begin to frantically enable it to come to fruition.
What did you think of these films?

I liked them both a lot. Visually they are really interesting (and every once in awhile pretty damn amazing) and I like the story. However I do think they are a bit disjointed.
I'd probably give them both a 4. I liked Night Watch slightly better.

I just never got a way into caring for the whole affair. Way, way too complicated a plot and I spent too much time trying to figure out who was who and what was going on I eventually just got tired with it all and gave up on them.
Fantastic action scenes, though. I'll give them that, but I can see better films out there that contain such elements so I don't really need to bother with these.
