While a small village is in the grip of a ravenous killing spree by a werewolf, a young girl tries to understand who's responsible when she comes to believe it may be some she has a deep connection with. *NOTE: Not too be confused with the Italian film of the same name done earlier in the decade or any of the other adaptations of this story. What did everyone think of this one?

I gave it a one, though full disclosure I watched less than 30 minutes of it so I probably shouldn't have voted. This is cute and cuddly tween nonsense for the Twilight crowd, though, so it can lick my taint

I did as well, though it did pick up somewhat once the attacks against the village came it got somewhat better, as well as engineering a somewhat decent twist in regards to the identity of the werewolf, but I had a major problem with that aspect too. This just feels more like a normal horror film so I gave it some bonus points.

Didn't love it, didn't really hate it. The cast was solid, the writing had a lot of problems.
Funny I was thinking of this earlier when an online friend of mine went on an(other) anti-Twilight rant. I find the vitriol toward Twilight and similar books/movies from horror fans kind of amusing. I don't find a single thing wrong with teenage girls having entertainment catered to them. The most offensive thing about Twilight is that the girl is dull as dishwater and her whole identity revolves around her feelings for the men in her life not the fact that the vampires sparkle. They aren't meant to be horror films in any way, they are romance. And yet, so many people seem to find their very existence offensive.

I dislike everything about Twilight. Yes, the characters are dull. Yes, there is a distinct lack of female agency and empowerment in the story. Most crucially, though, it is piss poor writing, and there is nothing remotely entertaining about any of it. That is unforgiveable.
I think if you look at my posting history, I am pretty critical of all movies and books that I think are bad. Twilight, more than anything else, is just a series of really bad movies based on really bad books that do not bring anything worthwhile to the table. Frankly, it is sad that kids who grew up on Harry Potter are graduating into reading such unworthy crap. I was hoping that they would have the tools to skip right over the adolescent nonsense phase in their reading and graduate right into reading serious works the way that my friends and I who were raised on Tolkein graduated right into Steinbeck, Hemmingway, Rushdie, Franzen, etc., and never went through that Babysitter's CLub phase. Oh well, I guess I was overly optimistic

Well, there is nothing entertaining about it for you, which makes sense, you're not exactly the demographic..... that doesn't mean that others can't find merit in it. Entertainment is subjective. I agree the writing is very weak, and I don't understand the popularity, but hey, I had The Vampire Diaries when I was a kid. And I read them right along with Steinbeck and Hemmingway. To be honest, I am just glad teenagers are reading at all. I read a lot of urban fantasy and even young adult books, I also read history books, biographies, and the classics. I know a couple of teenage girls that only started to read because of Twilight, and have discovered they actually enjoy books. Now they have explored different reading experiences because of it. A lot of what I enjoy is considered crap by others (and in fact, a lot of what horror fans enjoy in general is considered bad writing and without merit). And there is a lot of entertainment out there that is doing very well that I would say is every bit as much nonsense (or more) than Twilight. My point is that people seem harsher on Twilight and it's ilk. And I find that strange. You never know what kids may discover. I know so many people that refuse to read at all. My dad, who is the smartest person I know, hasn't read a book for the enjoyment of it in over ten years. Anyway, as for this movie I forgot to rate it. I give it a 2.

Good points Jen.
Red Riding Hood sounds like a skipper though.

I'll give it a two. I was kind of bored with it at times and wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it.
