Trying to escape a local revolution, a group of thieves escape the city and arrive at a secluded motel in the countryside to regroup, only to stumble upon the sinister truth about the owners there and try to get out of the area alive. What did everyone think of this one?

Decent hicksploitation movie. Deeply unpleasant, amusing rural psychopaths and very stylishly made to boot. The director, Xavier Gens, has been in Hollywood for a couple of years now. He made Hitman, which was crap, but I have high hopes for The Divide (have it on the way from Germany as it was not released on blu ray in the UK for some strange reason).

Glad you enjoyed it as well for the same reasons I did.
Divide only started premiering over here on TV and doesn't have a lot of real appeal as it's not much of a true horror but I may give it a chance since nothing's on TV here next month, it not being Halloween and such.

Funnily enough The Divide arrived in the post about a half hour after I wrote the previous post so we watched it last night. Not a horror in the traditional sense but it is as relentlessly grim, nihilistic and unpleasant a film as I have seen in a long time.
I liked it a lot.
