1. Leprechaun -- The plot of this little creepy critter film is about a Leprechaun who wants revenge because some people stole his pot of gold, including Jennifer Aniston as one of them! The movie probably seems stupid to you, but it's actually a very good B-horror movie, especially with Aniston in it. Definately worth a look if you're into these kind of films. 3/4
2. Leprechaun 2 -- The sequel is about Leprechaun who wants a bride and he'll get just that if she sneezes 3 times. Hmm... Now the plot has to sound out of this world ridiculous... But is it? No. In fact, this sequel is even better than the first! I really enjoyed this one! Lot's of gore and the special effects are nasty! Very good sequel! 3.5/4
3. Leprechaun 3 -- In the 3rd entry, Leprechaun is now taking over Las Vegas, where he finds LOTS of gold! Is the plot even more ridiculous than 1 and 2? Yes, but again, the movie isn't. This is actually just as good as the 1st, but I personally think it's a step down from the 2nd. Still it's a really good watch if you're into the series. 3/4
4. Leprechaun 4: In Space -- We knew this would happen sooner or later, right? Well Leprechaun is now in space. This one isn't as good as the previous 3, that's for sure, but it isn't all too bad. Only worth seeing if you're a fan of the series. 2/4
5. Leprechaun In The Hood -- Leprechaun is now in the hood, taking on Coolio and Ice T. Okay, here's where the franchise went downhill. Look at this, Leprechaun raps in the end! WTF?! This one is just straight up God awful. Truely the worst of them all, not even worth seeing if you're a fan of the series. 0/4
6. Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood -- Leprechaun is still in the hood and by the title of the film, I skipped this because the first 'Leprechaun In The Hood' movie was the worst. Why bother with another one, right? Maybe the 7th entry will be about Leprechaun in Paris. Anything is better than him being in the hood.

I honestly can't believe tht you gave more than 1 star to any of these, but cheers to you anyway for suffering through all of these and paying enough attention to provide reviews. I saw the first one when it cme out and aside from Jennifer Aniston's sexiness, I can't say that there was anything in this that I really liked at all. I knew better than to ever watch any of the others. that said, I did catch Lep in tha Hood on cable and it was awful but in a fun way

As someone with almost No Guilty Pleasures whatsoever, I am not afraid to admit I really like the first 3 Leprechaun movies. So, I'm glad to see you liked them too.

I've seen 1, 2, and 4, and love all three of them. Really fun films, I have to say.

I agree. They are fun. And, this is actually a good example of a series where absurdity rules. They have style. They have a theme ("You wanna try your luck?" - quote from part 3). None of the performances are inherently bad (look at who's involved in each movie: Jennifer Aniston from Friends, Michael McDonald from MadTV, Sandy Baron from Seinfeld, Kimmy Robertson from Twin Peaks, Leigh Allyn Baker from Will & Grace), even from the bit-players. And, though most of the gore effects are laughably-bad, Warwick Davis's make-up is incredible (as is his costume), his performance is always amusing, and he's actually scary, monstrous, and demented.
There are plenty of good moments in each of the first 3 movies. They played that premise to the hilt!

I've always thought he was the version of Freddy Kreuger who was actually consistently funny. I never really feared him, as he never once really touches his victims to kill them. He's more in line with the Djinn from Wishmaster in that they're deaths are brought on by stupidity in the victims rather than any mean streak in the villain, although he does seem more wicked than the Leprechaun.

The Djinn from Wishmaster is a weak villain. His look is basically Predator meets Candyman. His voice is a direct rip-off of Candyman (compare to two some time, you'll see). And I imagine the original film is the best of the series - and it stinks.
The thing that makes the first 3 Leprechaun movies worth watching are those scenes that show his dark humor. His thing is, as you mentioned, he draws in victims by their greed (stupidity) and then does a sort of gag-kill on all of them.
Like when he rips off the agent's finger and says, "Finger-lickin' good!" As a kid, that grossed me out. Now, I love it. The best death scene in the series though, has got to be the magician from part 3. Killing him in front of the audience who thinks it's a joke...He jumps in front of the Cut-In-Half box, opens it and the guys' insides flop out - everybody starts screaming... They probably thought it wasn't real the whole time before he opened the box.
My favorite effect is, hands down- Part 1, when his hand is cut off and crawls up the door, grabs the knob, and twists. But it's locked.

I never said his look was weak. I said his powers were about the same. Two totally different subjects, though I do agree about them. Just wasn't what I was talking about.

why are you mad? To be fair, the Lep movies do not warrant that sort of response from anyone
Be happy

I've tried to watch the first one twice and fell asleep halfway through both times. I somehow don't think my life will be incomplete if I don't attempt a third strike.

Good thinking, Toad. They are almost as incomprehensibly boring as a cricket match
