"Se7en" is a classic suspense thriller that stars Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman as two police detectives on the trail of a madman who is using the 7 deadly sins as his motivation. The 7 sins are lust, greed, gluttony, sloth, envy, wrath, and pride.
What can I say about this movie? Well it blew me away big time. "Se7en" is now one of my all time favorite movies! The acting is brillaint, the script is top notch, the suspense is breath taking, and the ending is fucked up!
Put all of that together and you can one of the best suspense thrillers ever made! I'm proud to say that I now own this on DVD and I can watch it anytime I want, and that will be a LOT! The movie is just great. I can't say anything more without ruining it! JUST WATCH IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Before this movie, David Fincher directed a sci-fi flick that didn't get much critical praise and was mostly known for directing music videos. He was no class-act by the time he made this movie. So, in my opinion, there are flaws and holes in its' philosophy. Mainly that I can never accept anything that comes out of a Brad Pitt character's mouth as an important piece of morality. So basically, everything Brad Pitt does in this movie annoys the hell out of me - until the ending where... well, I guess nobody here ever uses spoilers. I won't start, but... that's a terrific ending. Sorry Gwyneth, but it had to happen to a guy as annoying as Pitt's character is. The movie basically seems to be about mainly, how brash the "tough guy" detective characters (like Pitt's David) are until they themselves are involved in a killer's game. This also manages to be one of the only interesting movies about a killer who is super-intelligent, super-cunning, and super-prepared. God- tell me I'm not the only one who's sick of those? Se7en works, by the skin of its' teeth barely... And Silence of the Lambs is the ultimate blueprint. Se7en took that and made the killer un-see-able until the final third of the movie. But made him the best pathetic physical-body representation of the weaknesses of a person who would turn into a serial killer. After that, what's the point of these invisible "super killer" movies like Saw and Untraceable? Finally, I would hate to think Se7en is a vision of the disintegration of America in the 90's under a better Presidential leader than the two Republicans who preceded him. But, the major cities are always nasty places to be. I Give it: Because, regardless of how I feel about its subject matter, it's still largely a well-written (no matter how offensive), well-acted, well-made film.
