I read part of the Odyssey, and picked up the rest from the teacher's lecture, lol. I enjoyed the story a lot, although it was a bit of a bore to read, but hey, it's old as hell. Didn't love Gatsby either, but it was a quick read anyhow, eh old sport?

Yea lol. Im glad it was short. The Great Gatsby felt like an afternoon soap opera in novel form.

I really don't know what to say about you guys not liking Gatsby. The Odyssey is great IMHO but it is very old and a lot depends on the quality of the translation. Gatsby, however, is a genuine classic and I am truly surprised that you two didn't find anything to like about it. PArticularly you, CT. In many ways it is the Entourage of its era.

Gatsby is boring. There is nothing in that book making it somthing special. If you want a good book, then read Of Mice and Men.

I like both. they are totally different from one another, and can't really be compared. In addition ot being written almost two decades apart, they are about two totally different eras and social strata

I didn't dislike Gatsby, I found it to be an enjoyable read and it wasn't a struggle to get through it or anything, but it's wasn't anything special either IMO. I've definately been forced to read worse in high school.

I just thought the Gatsby was boring, and thats the worse a book can be for me. Spoken like a man who never had to read Anne Bronte. Pick up the Tenant of Wildfell Hall one day. YOu will be begging for something as fun and quick as Gatsby

Thats a very good question. I would have to say Artimis, She was known as the Mistress of Animals and the protectress of children, but she was also a huntress and the goddess who could bring death with her arrows. She is a strong willed and powerful goddess, a female who could punish injustices against the gods with ferocious and deadly accuracy. And as an Olympian goddess, Artemis was free to pursue her interests, and was often found frolicking in the forests, accompanied by a band of nymphs.Myths and legends show that the goddess Artemis was aloof and free-spirited.
