I can't remember if there was a thread for this movie before. But this is one of my absolute favorite science fiction films, and I was wondering if there were any other fans around here. www.imdb.com/title/tt0118929/I saw it in the theater when it first came out and was impressed; I love the storyline and the look of the movie really appealed to me. I have seen it a few times since, and it still holds up. I like this one even more than I like The Matrix, it has a darker, creepier feel to it. Anyone that hasn't seen it, I recommend it highly. For those who have seen it, what did you think?

Its a great movie, I don't know all that many people that have seen it though (as might be evidenced by the fact that no one else has been in this thread.....haha). Its kind of disjointed at times, but it still works, because of the type of film it is.

This is a great film. I borrowed it from a friend a couple of years ago and watched several times (don't worry - I did return it!).... I need my own copy now...

Absolutely love this film, have it as part of my Gnostic movie collection (films based directly or indirectly on Gnostic concepts), around 50 DVDs so far. Ive watched it dozens of times, it also has some of the most quotable lines, which I always say along with the characters, my favorite being.........
"And what about Mr. Quick?"......"No more Mr. Quick"......"Mr. Quick dead Hmm yes"......"And what about Mr. Book, does he know"......"Should we not know Mr. Hand"

It was made by the same guy who directed The Crow, its sort of the reverse of the 1922 silent film Metropolis, but without the female robot. Stars John Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly and Richard O'Brien (Riff Raff from Rocky Horror). Its extremely dark, as you probably could guess by the title of the film, and takes place in a dystopia world where at the stroke of midnight, the entire city falls asleep....except for one man.....

I really enjoyed this one and have rewatched it a few times since I got it a year and a half ago. Great cast, very creepy atmosphere, and a really intriguing science fiction plot that plays out nicely.
4/5
