www.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idUSN1126991620070412Had lots of respect for Vonnegut as a writer, though it sometimes went over my head, admittedly. I read Slaughterhouse-Five for the first time a couple of years ago at the suggestion of my father, and was intrigued enough that I picked up Cat's Cradle and Breakfast of Champions as well. May he rest in peace.

Kurt Vonnegut is an absolute hero of mine, and I am deeply saddened by his death. He is both one of the most important writers of the 20th century, and a truly important and influential liberal thinker. In addition to all of the books and short stories that he wrote (almost all of which contained an explicit anti-war theme) he also gave hundreds of speeches and addresses in opposition to the Vietnam war, the Reagan administration, and the Bush administration. He was an ireplaceable figure who played a significant role in shaping the course of my life, and I will miss him terribly

Wow, just read my first Vonnegut book, Cat's Cradle, last summer. Great stuff.
