So it's just like the other ones in the series.

I seriously think in the tradition of Dream Warriors that this is the movie that consolidated the franchise after a slightly disapointing part 2.It is so intense - the opening foot smashing and the brain surgery almost make me sick - and this is no mean feat considering everything I've watched. It edges closer to part 1 each time I see it.

Did anyone think the freezer trap was a little deep for an R rating?

Did anyone think the freezer trap was a little deep for an R rating? Not especially. The freezer trap was well done, and it looked especially painful and brutal to be a part of. As far as being intensely gory and gruesome, however, I found it to be one of the softer torture sequences in the third film that I remember. In fact, I had kind of forgotten it behind the rack and the rib spreader until you brought it up.

I have to admit that I probably rated this movie too low. I really don't care for the Saw series very much, but I have been coming back to this particular movie fairly regularly. It really stands out from the others in my mind as a truly well made and somewhat frightening film.
