“Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” is the entry in the series that I believe is better than the original.
**SPOILERS**
Following the end of part 3, the police recover Jason's body and transport him away to a local hospital. He kills several of the staff before escaping and returning to Crystal Lake, where the Jarvis family and a bunch of local teens are staying nearby. Coming back from a trip, Tommy Jarvis' (Corey Feldman) dog runs into the teens in the middle of a skinny dip, and is ushered away by his older sister Trish, (Kimberly Beck) who one of the guys, Rob (Eric Anderson) takes an immediate liking to. Tommy is a whiz at making masks, which creeps Rob out when he visits. The teens' party becomes a little X-rated, making Samantha (Judie Aronson) nervous. While everyone else parties, she ventures down to the lake, meeting a grisly end. Unaware, the party continues, with everyone hooking up for the night. Samantha's boyfriend Paul, (Alan Hayes) goes to check on her, and is killer by Jason after finding her dead. One by one, they stray away from the cabin, each one falling victim to Jason. Only Ted, (Lawrence Monoson) Doug, (Peter Barton) Sara, (Barbara Howard) and Terri, (Carey Moore) are left. Tommy begins to worry about his own family's sake, so Trish goes out to find her, leaving Tommy alone the house. She runs into Rob in the woods, and he reveals to her the truth about Jason. Jason himself turns up at the party, leaving nobody alive. Trish and Rob find Tommy alone, and go check on the group next door, finding Jason and leading up to a final showdown.
The Good News: After upping the ante in part 3 with gore, part 4 switches most of that for shameless gratuitous nudity. More T&A is shown in part 4 than in any other `Friday' film, as at least everyone other than Tommy, Jason, and Tommy's mother gets nude at some point, many of them twice. However, if there is a lot of nudity, then a lot of gore should go with it as well, and in keeping with tradition, part 4 is pretty gory. We get several more impalements on foreign objects, a nice face ripping, and a truly gory dispatch for Jason, slicing the side of his face open with the machete. One of the many reasons why I like this one is that I have actually jumped at watching this movie, something that not even the first one didn't even do. He comes crashing through so many windows, I jumped at some of them. Many of the other jumps didn't, but those did. It also has, like part 3, this certain charm that you are almost forced to watch it again. This is also the first to not have a great bang ending, which works given its history, that this was supposed to be the last one, but was so good that part 5 was put into production, but it still is just a fun movie to watch.
The Bad News: The man thing I'm complaining at here is the sheer gratuitous nudity. This may shock a lot of you, seeing as how that is one of the reasons for seeing a horror movie, but when at least 20 percent of the film is nudity, you want a better story that you can get into. Unfortunately, that is the other drawback for the film. The people don't have a `clever' motive for them being there, as the others do. They were simply placed at Crystal Lake to be hacked and slashed, which could be a good thing when you think about it.
The Final Verdict: Simply an amazing movie. Slasher fans get everything they could want in this kind of film: gratuitous nudity, gory, gory deaths, and a slam-bang storyline, once you get past the fact that the reason for the film's being is cliché. Nothing in this film will disappoint any type of horror fan, and is recommended viewing for anyone trying to get into the `Friday' series and needs a good starting off point.
Rated R: Nudity, Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, and a few sex scenes

Friday the 13th The Final ChapterJason meets his Match! Jason took a hard hit at Higgins Haven. When Chris buried an Axe into his head he was out cold. In fact so cold that he was presumed dead... Already laying in the "ice box" and being presumed dead wont stop Jason. He regains conciseness and makes his way out of the morgue. Unfortunately a young group of teens pick that weekend to rent out a house for some summer fun. For the teens and the Jarvis family, this night will not turn out as they had planned. The same can be said for Jason... 4 Stars out of 5! Probably the very LAST Friday the 13th to truly capture the feel and atmosphere that was started in the original. More attention goes to the cast this time in terms of personality. A few good jokes play threw out the movie and as a bonus we have TWINS! The movie has it's slow points but when the hits come, they hit hard! Some of the greatest kills ever can be found in this installment! We even get play by play commentary from one victim... take a listen LINK
The character who became the most significant in the Friday the 13th series, is introduced for the first time in The Final Chapter. His name is Tommy Jarvis and it's his actions that truly made Jason what he is today. It all started here, in Friday the 13th Part 4 The Final Chapter.
Where it all ends for Jason, is where it all begins! Don't miss this one!

The only problem I have with this one is the play by play TJ refered to, I am sorry if Jason was killing me I doubt if that is what I would be yelling LOL. but yet this is one of the best Fridays out there 5/5.

Nice, I think those are the scary ones in the series as well. This one I jump more at than any other entry in the series. The cheesy sequels after part 5 I like more, but this one will always be in my top 5 in the series.

5 from me. Far and away the best in the series. It actually has several legit actors, and is quite enjoyable. Savini stages some great kills in this one

It's probably the best technical movie of the series, and quite deservedly earns it's series classic status.

Sounds like a watch, today, should be in order. It's belated, but the gift still counts.
