30 Days of Night (2007) Directed by David Slade Barrow, Alaska prepares for its 30 days without sunlight, not knowing that a bloodthirsty gang of vampires is waiting for the sun to go down to go on a violent feeding frenzy and destroy the small town. --------------- Rate this film on a scale of 0-5 stars, 5 being best.

I give it a 2 for some nice sequences and cool deaths. It loses too many points for being extremely threadbare plotwise (in fact if you squint sideways at it the plot spontaneously combusts), having incredibly tedious snarly vampires, a really crap ending and a leading actress who seems incapable of closing her bloody mouth.

Three from Toad. Went in expecting braindead vampire entertainment and dished up exactly that, with a few new twists. And the atmospherics and overall concept were pretty cool.

A 3 from me as well. Its wasn't a great movie, it definitely had its problems, but it was entertaining. Some bad casting, for sure, but it certainly didn't make it unwatchable. Like Toad, it was exactly what I expected and I enjoyed it.
