Is there something you still do today that you know you started doing in childhood that is completely irrational to others, and you recognize that but can't seem to stop? Share with others here.

I can't stand to have any part of me, besides my head uncovered while I sleep, and I know that's from being a kid and thinking somehow I was more vulnerable to whatever "monster" might be around at the time.... Now of course I know that is completely ridiculous.....but I still have to have at least a sheet covering me. That reminds me though, of being really young and thinking if I would just lie still enough, these monsters or whatever I was afraid of at the time wouldn't notice me and would move right on along. Yep, that was my big plan in case there was something in the dark, in my room, waiting to eat me....don't move and they would somehow just forget I was there...hahaha...

I know there is something put I cant really seem to think about it. It might be something that I might not notice. LOL This one has me thinking, I know I had a lot of weird things I did as a kid, but I dont think I still do them now.

I have something similar to Jen's:
I can't sleep with any part of my body, an arm, an elbow, a foot anything, hanging over the edge of the bed. Even just a little bit, as I remember as a kid that I was afraid of a crocodile living under my bed and being fearful that if I left something dangling over the edge, it would rise up from under the bed and snap if off, even if I left it over for a couple of seconds. Even now, when it happens, I break into a sweat and start to panic and immediately bring my arm in from outside the bed and leave it fangling against my side. It's merely the fact that I thought it was a crocodile is what made it so irriational to me.

I always sleep with a fan running whether it is warm or cold in the room because when I was a kid I thought that the fan would blow ghosts back out of my room and away from me. Anyway, now I just really love the sound of it to the point that I pack a little portable fan to use in hotel rooms. This new airport security is a big pain in my balls, but I can usually make do by running the fan in the bathroom of the hotel room as that makes a pleasing enough noise

Hmm how can I explain this, sometimes I tap a plastic knife to my hand when I am either down or nervous,it makes me feel better cause when I was a kid that is what helped me feel calm, don't know if this is strange or not though
