Does anyone have the new 3GS or any iPhone? I just got one. The Internet is pretty good on it, really fast wireless nearly everywhere and the media capBilities of an iPod video. I'm happy to have it I've been without a computer for a year.

I'd get one if the prices were not so high. I'll just have to stick with my Nokia.

I agree it's pricey but if you need a computer, a camera, and a new cellphone ( mine was 4 years old) this is actually the cheapest way by far to get all three so it worked out well for my situation.

I stopped caring about that kind of stuff when I found out that a cell-phone had a camera built into them. Too me, that's just useless technology when we can better use that research for more important, worthwhile goals for humanity. I don't really care whether or not my phone can access the internet, I have a computer for that and I can wait until I get home to see what I need on it.

That's the same way I felt and the main reason I got it was because I have no pc. And I was also in the market for a video camera and realized this has as good recording quality as any digital video camera that's under $500. The wireless anywhere does come in handy though, I'm sitting here on my lunch brake at work posting.

Yes, I also have the Iphne 3GS. I actually got it for work, because the ability to maintain my schedule and appointment book as well as check my e-mail on the go was a huge advantage. It has also proven valuable in terms of doing internet research on the fly when in court or meeting with someone.
Of course, it is also a lot of fun to play around with the apps and stuff. Many of them are surprisingly fun and even useful. Plus, 16 gig is enough memory that I don't even need to carry my old ipod anymore. I can just use the phone.
As far as cost, it is fairly expensive, but not too bad all in all. I needed a smart phone for work, and my first thought was to stick with Verizon because I was already a Verizon user. The Blackberrys taht they offer, however, are both inferior to the iphone, and the service costs approximately $10 more than AT&T charges for the iphone per month.
The only increase in expenditure was the purchase of the phone, and if I continue to use it for 4 or 5 years, as has been my average with phones, this one will actually work out to be cheaper for me than the Blackberry would have been

He'll fuckin yeah man glad to hear you're enjoying the wonderfully goodness. I mean my full time job is at an archives that takes up four entire floors of a skyscraper. I do my work and all, but I'm literally free to surf the net or post here at any point in the day. But anywho, you've also ratted yourself out in a way by letting us know. You now are obligated to share pics, I know how easy it is to do! I'll go first:

Well, I will PM my facebook information to you. I am happy to friend you guys, and you can see some photos of me there. For professional reasons, I like to limit the ability of people to directly associate me by photo or real name with my internet persona by not putting that kind of stuff anywhere where it is freely accessible to anyone who wants to see it. I don't think I've said anything particularly problematic, but you can never be too careful. I don't really need the local District Court Judges knowing my opinion on naziploitation films, for example

Hahaha....okay HNT, you are aware you now have to PM me that information right? I have no iPhone.....usually the less people that can get in touch with me the better....LOL....seriously I love my computer, but I really don't like cell phones, I have a very basic one so I can keep in touch with Ron at work doing the day, or in case of an emergency while we are out and that's it.

I'm not a big cellphone talker myself, to me based on what I mostly use it for,my iPhone is a Mobile computer that Just Happens to makes calls.
Yeah pm me u r facebook info hnt. I hate facebook with a passion but do have an account and will log on to check out some o ur shit. Also anything posted in unrated chat would be inaccessable to anyone snooping. I see your point though as it is now standard practice for employers to scour facebook myspace and others for anything incrimnating.

I can definitely see how it would be convenient if you don't have access to a computer, or for certain jobs. Just not something that appeals to me at all. Of course, I hate spending money on anything except movies and books....LOL....

Internet access is just so important these days you need a way. You've got yours so no real need for an iPhone. Im just dazzled by it because it's such a glimpse at the future of personal technogy. I used to have to go into my roommates room and use his pc just to check my bank account balance or the like. Now I can do it in the car or while I'm working or while I'm sitting on the toilet. (tmi i'm sure)

The iphone is its most valuable on the toilet. This morning I was answering work e-mails, scheduling appointments, and reading the NY Times all while dropping my morning deuce. That was the best moment ever

That was the best moment ever Yeah I work by myself filing paperwork on these huge floors full of nothing but boxes on shelves part of the day like right now. It's so nice having highspeed Internet, news, videos etc right at my fingertips. I could even be watching porn right now but I prefer to not get fired lol.
