This on actually doesn't seem to be as one sided as you were saying GL. I admit that I hate this movie with a passion, but it appears that just as many people are posting that they like it, or at least that they thought is was average. This doesn't seem to be as one sided as you and I would have thought

They're talking about average, I'm on the side of greatness. I'm further along the spectrum, true, but not nearly enough who love it as much as I do compared to the haters of it. I agree, it's not as one-sided as it should be, but it's still there.

I detested part 6. I didn't understand what the heck was going on and frankly, there was only one scene in it that I enjoyed. I would like to throw the DVD in the oven and eat it. Almost as terrible as the 3rd one.

I don't know, I was just confused all the way through it.

WEll, whatever floats your boat. I didn't find much to be confused about in this one.

But all of the wierd plots were left dangling and we never discovered who everyone was and what was happening?

I think you're thinking too hard about the film. That means nothing to me. It satisfied three of my four quotas on slasher films:
Lots of inventive deaths A great killer to root for A non-stop pace with plenty of action and suspense
The only one it didn't show (the slutty characters, which wasn't expanded enough for me likes) keeps this one from being one of the utter classics of the genre.

I watched it again today. Maybe I was a bit hard on it. The first hour I enjoyed this time round, just the last 20 minutes had me doing this: I was more annoyed last time because I didn't understand the ending. This time, I enjoyed the first two thirds enough to make this one a three. But because of the confusing climax it doesn't get a four.

At least you gave it a shot afterwards.

Yeah. The beginnig where he kills Jamie is my favourite part. I love the demise of Michael at the very end. Very brutal.

I don't know if you remembered my old avatar, but I love that sequence the most, as well as the Rear Window rip-off where he kills the slutty sister. Fantastic scenes.

I did too, it's one of my all-time favorite kill scenes in cinema. Only works due to the prior knowledge that Michael killed 90% by stabbing or slicing with a knife. It was pleasant to see him do something else.
