Very interested, loved the first one but I'm loathe to part with money when all reports suggest it is extremely short in the single player department. Will wait a while methinks til it comes down in price.

Lucky for me my roommate ordered it so I'll be able to test it out. If it's really good I might buy it too so he an I can play online together. I'm more interested in the multiplayer myself.

Big fan of all the Call of Duty games.
Will pick this title up soon. I'm more interested in multilayer games,so the single player really doesn't matter to me.

Not a must play game for me, as online multiplayer is usually mighty frustrating when it comes to shooters that I am not especially good at. now Halo, on theother hand, is a different story. I may rent it at some point just to pound out the single player in a weekend, but unless there is a lot more here than meets the eye it is not a big one on my list

My roommates copy came and I played it a bit last night. Seems really great and the multiplayer is awesome. I think I'm gonna buy it tomorrow.

Wow, the multiplayer is phenomenal. And I'm poor at fps games as well, especially when play online, but for some reason this one seems easier and less frustrating than others I've played. Definately give it a look guys. I'm buyin my own copy tonight!

Definately give it a look guys. I'm buyin my own copy tonight! I was going to get this, but opted for Left 4 Dead 2. I dig zombie apocalypse, big time. I will most likely pick this up around Christmas time either as gift or shortly thereafter. When I do, we should hook-up for some gun-play!

Don't blame you for opting for left4dead as that's the type of game that seems right up your alley if I know you as well as I think I do. But I'm very excitied to hear youre still planning on picking it up this month or next. I'm no FPS expert or even fan, ie the last fps I owned was the illustrious Goldeneye of N64. But this game on xbox live is great and I love it. Not too steep of a learning curve and man the action and visuals are top notch. There's literally a level called Afghan where you fight through poppy fields! I take no pleasure in real world war but in harmless video game form it's quite entertaining. GTA rocks, while I would never kneecap a granny before killing a hooker and stealing my money back from her in real life. Well not before midnight mind you. But BD, get it asap and pm me your gamertag. I'd be honored to fight alongside a man who has real life weapons training! (I fired a rifle at boy scout camp age 12 once! And HNT, if youre a halo fan you have no reason to buy this for the longterm never get old xbox live experience. All the best modern warfare guys cut their teeth in Halo. Yes there's differences (u Cant do that 15 ft high jump bs) it's really the same general fps concept. And it's really just flat out better than halo Imo, although full disclosure, I'm no halo fan although I've given it a fair try. Perhaps some just prefer scifi fps, and others realistic fps.

Yes, that is definitely true, although I am not partial only to Sci Fi shooters. I do, to an extent, have a problem with highly realistic modern day shooters, though. I probably should get over it as things aren't going to change any time soon, but I kinda think things like the poppy level that you mentioned are in very bad taste.
While you are correct that enjoying a videogame (or movie, book, song, or anything else, really) is in any way tantamount to approval of the real thing, I still can't help but have some moral reservations about turning battlefields where people are really dying right now into games and entertainment. Frankly, I can't help but think that games making it "fun" to be in those situations does color people's perceptions of real life. After all, if it didn't the Army wouldn't be using FPS as a recruitment tool.

Yes they are using fps as training and recruitment sims aren't they. Pretty crazy world. Your objections to the game are reasonable. It does cheapen the concept of war to certain degree. Glamorizes it big time as well, of course I know it ain't glamorous in real life but all the 8-15 year olds playing it is worrisome. My aforementioned copy of Goldeneye was thrown out by my mother because it was too violent teehee. She said the Russians are our friends now, quit shooting them! Haha!

lol, that's funny. Goldeneye followed pretty closely to the film script and was pretty over the top silly in James Bond fashion so it is a little hard for me to have the same objections to it. I do remember, though, when it came out and seemed very realistic, so I know where your mom is coming from.

I remember trying to explain to her that the levels where you fight Russian soldiers take place before the end of the cold war but apparently it was just the killing part she objected to. Loved playing that game splitscreen against friends. The precursor to halo and modern warfare online multiplayer.
