This is my choice. I think a lot of you have already seen it, and for those who haven't it really is worth checking out. I think this one should be relatively easy to find, so I am hoping that we might be able to boost participation this month. Thanks everyone...

I kinda forgot about this one. I never put it on my Christmas list, and I didn't think of seeing it in the theaters, so I don't have it.

Well, consider grabbing it then, man. You can get it pretty cheap now, and I tried to pick one that I didn't think anyone would regret purchasing.

I'm a fan of Raimi's films. Not so much the spider-man trilogy, but his movies outside of that comic book genre.
Drag Me To Hell was heralded as his return to the horror genre, complete with his Raimi-esque mix of 'horredy' sight gags.
I found it to be entertaining, but not nearly as the Evil dead films. I would have preferred a more darker vibe, this came off as Raimi light.
Overall, some effective creepy moments and a few chuckles, but not worth repeated viewings.

I found it to be entertaining, but not nearly as the Evil dead films. I would have preferred a more darker vibe, this came off as Raimi light. This I agree with. However, I know I will be watching it again and I don't regret buying it. I thought it was a lot of fun. In some ways it felt like he was just doing what he had done with the Evil Dead films (well, Army of Darkness and Evil Dead 2) just not nearly as effectively. The blend of comedy and horror worked well some of the time, other times not as much. There were few very well done scenes and I absolutely loved the ending, though it was predictable. It was still a great ending. So while I wasn't blown away, and maybe it wasn't everything I hoped it would be, its still a good, if uneven, horror film. And it kind of grossed me out a couple of times.....so there's that....LOL... . I would probably give this one a 3 out of 5.

Just ordered it! Hopefully doesn't take too long to get here considering the time of year!

Nice. Lots of participation, then. I wouldn't expect it to take too long to ship

Yeah, a late next week arrival seems likely which would be fine.
I'm gonna go into it just expecting some solid horror entertainment. Not Evil Dead 4 or Raimis next "horror masterpiece" so hopefully that will manage my expectations and keep them realistic. I Just remember some creepy ass lookin stuff from the previews which caught my eye.

It's an entertaining film, bottom-line. i have a few nitpicks with it, but overall, it's Raimi doing what he does best.

But you feel it deserves no repeat viewings from you ever? I'd only reserve that stance for pretty bad movies myself.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this one for the first time, my boyfriend saw it and really liked it but I never got around to it. I'm going to try and pick it up the next time I'm out.

I loved it, I felt he was back in his form with this movie, it had Sam Raimi written all over it. Some interviewers were obviously not Raimi fans and so didn't get it at all, evidently those who complained about it never saw any of the Evil Dead movies.

But you feel it deserves no repeat viewings from you ever? I'd only reserve that stance for pretty bad movies myself. Good question. I'd venture to say no. It does not have that certain je ne sais quoi that the Evil Ded films, which lends itself to repeat viewing. Come to think of it, Bruce Campbell had a lot to do with the appeal of said films, so I think that certain element is missing from Drag Me To Hell.

Obviously nothing can touch Evil Dead, I don't think its even fair to compare the two. But it is very Evil Dead-like, in terms of how it was shot, I know I noticed several "sort of" homages to Evil Dead in the movie.
