Since we are nearing nearing the end of 2009, I figured everyone could list their favorite films/books/television shows of the year. This is not so much for me though, since I rarely read or watch anything the year it is released..... I will think about it, maybe watch a few more movies, and then put together an incomplete list.

Hmmm, not an easy question but I will give it a go
Films:
Comedy: The Hangover
Horror: Drag Me to Hell
Docummentary: Capitalism: A Love Story
Overall: Toss-up between Up in the Air and Precious
Television:
Drama/Overall: Madmen hands down
Comedy: CUrb YOur Enthusiasm
Books:
Non-fiction: The FAmily by Jeff Sharlett (one of the scariest things I've ever read. Christian fundamentalist politics are terrifying)
Fiction: I do not read all that much fiction, so I am gonna nominate The Lovely BOnes. It is not a 2009 book, but I just read it this year so what the hell

Didn't know you had seen Precious HNT, I've heard a lot of good things about it but haven't seen it.
Didn't see the latest season of Curb either although the show is a favorite of mine. Was it better than Always Sunny?
Oh and I know a lot about The Family, that IS creepy!

Let The Right One In was a 2008 movie, Jen. It just got released for us here in 2009: www.imdb.com/title/tt1139797/So it's up to you how you want to rule it: when it was first released in it's home country, or when it was available in your territory?

No problem, Jen.
That's always been one of the hardest things to judge in situations like that: when something that was released in different years in different territories is available to be placed in such lists. I see that you follow mine, that when it was first available in your area is when it counts, no matter of release in the original format.
