just curious as to what your favourite ten albums are. btw i would appreciate it if people didn't send me personal abuse for my taste in music as i find it stupid to be angry with someone because they like a different style of music to you. I'm sure nobody on this site is like that but i have met alot of people that critisise me for my taste in music so i just thought i'd ask.
anyway, in no particular order, here are my top ten favourite albums.
Slayer - Christ Illusion Aeon - Bleeding The False Legion Of The Damned - Cult Of The Dead Eminem - The Eminem Show Marilyn Manson - HolyWood Alice Cooper - Hey Stoopid Deathstars - Night Electric Night Queen - Innuendo Little Boots - Hands Deicide - Serpents Of the Light

Couple of questions.
First, I love Slayer as much as anyone that you will ever meet, but are you really suggesting that Christ Illusion is your favorite record by them? Don't get me wrong, I love it too. But I would easily rate Reign in Blood, South of Heaven, and Seasons in the Abyss as better records.
Second, of all of the possible death metal choices you selected Deicide? And not even a very good Deicide record at that. I certainly understand where your silly and childish view of satanism and its belief system comes from now. I like Deicide too, but I would not rate them as highly as yu have. Not to mention, if I were to pick a Deicide record to praise it would probably be Legion or their debut. The rest of your list I respect, but do not agree with. Those two I had to point out because they are bands that I respect and simply seemed like maybe you haven't heard their best records yet.
As for my choices:
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Ministry - The Land of Rape and Honey
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
Bob Marley - Catch a Fire/NAtty Dread (can't decide)
John Lennon - Imagine
Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
Mos Def and Talib Qweli are Blackstar

Thats so hard to put together, Id have to give a top ten list based on the different genres of metal that I listen too, it would be nearly impossible to pic just 10 albums.
Id have to disagree with you HNT on the Decide thing, as much as I hate to agree with Razor, Serpents of the Light is one of my favorite Deicide albums, it has some really catchy songs, with some good blasphemous lyrics, not that I have any interest in Satanism, beyond my interest in studying religions in general. Blame it on God and In this Hell were in are two of my favorite Decide songs, but yeah overall as an album...my fav is Once Upon the Cross.
Haven't heard Christ Illusion, but I can't imagine it being better then Season in the Abyss or Reign in Blood.
Also I could never respect Eminem or Manson, Rap and posers are Metal's enemies.

Throw another one into the 'fan of Serpents of the Light' my way as well, for precisely those songs mentioned, though the title track is also awesome. I'd probably just never put it on my list.
Metallica-Master of Puppets King Diamond-Abigail Judas Priest-Painkiller Slayer-Reign in Blood Testament-The Formation of Damnation King Diamond-The Puppet Master Dragonforce-Inhuman Rampage Cannibal Corpse-Kill At the Gates-Slaughter of the Soul Emperor-Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk

HNT, while Reign In Blood is undoubably a fantastic, revolutionary album, for some reason i prefere the riffs and beats in CI. Also, my only view on Satanism is that it's a load of total crap lol.
I don't see why a couple of people seem to have a problem with me for enjoying rap music and marilyn manson. i respect that they arn't everyone's cup of tea but i enjoy them. When i used to suffer from suicidal depression some of Manson's songs (as well as some alice cooper songs) really helped me get through it.
anway a lot of good lists here. particually GL.

All extra money at the moment is going towards trying to get my old computer on-line (I'm about halfway to what I need to have it done) so unfortunately, nothing like that in the future for me until that happens.

Great list, Jen. U live lou reed and the Velvets too. I definitely would include Vu with Nico on this list myself sometimes depending i'm when I make it (it seems to always change with my mood). I also love Transformer, but my favorite Reed solo record is definitely Berlin. I don't think I've ever heard a darker and more upsetting album. If you haven't heard it, the recent live version of Berlin that Lou recorded at St. Ann's Warehouse in NY is truly great.
Razor, I agree with you that animosity toward rap music is silly. I have two rap albums on my list. Rap is not the enemy of metal or anything like that. I love both and would argue instead that narrow-mindedness us an enemy of creativity in all art forms. That said, I just don't care for Eminem because I find him a little mainstream and boring.
I find Mansin to be absurd, but I can't deny that Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals are both great records. I don't personally care for Holywood because I think that he'd ptrviously been making experimental and surprising albums and then he just stopped and fell back on doing exactly the schtick that everyone expected of him.
GL, sorry to hear that, man. It seems like it should be a great show and definitely one that would appeal to you. Hope you get your computer issues fixed soon.
