To help the site? We seem to have lost a lot of good posting members. There has to be a way to get some more.

my only suggestions would be:
a new layout.
more content besides just conversations, such as consistent reviews and news to keep people coming back.

what? The site is doing very well, thank you. I would always welcome new members, and love it when old ones return, but we have done a lot to get members here. Not to mention, we have a dedicated set of regular posters who seem to stop by with regularity, as well as some less frequent visitors. Leatherface, Firestar, and Abraxzas are all members that are new since the last time you have been here, and they are all good peeps to talk to and pretty regular posters. I think the board is about as healthy as I've seen it in years, personally.
These places change. Old members leave and new one's join up. We went through a real dead period for a while. this is not it

I am not saying it is bad now, but I remember a time when there were at least ten I can call off right now posting at least ten times a day.
As I said we are doing a good job now, but I want to make it better.

my only suggestions would be: a new layout. more content besides just conversations, such as consistent reviews and news to keep people coming back. I used to post some horror news regularly from various websites (I think the thread is still there) but stopped when it started getting really slow around here. I can start that up again. All in all though I agree with HNT.While I also welcome new members, we really aren't doing too badly right now.

I think one problem we have is that one of the most updated threads is the what have you last watched thread.Maybe we all need to get into the habit of starting a thread on the movies themselves??? Another forum I'm a member of actually deleted the thread for this very reason, not that I suggest going that far.
Just a suggestion to ponder.

One thing I would suggest, not to be a dick, is that conversations like this belong in the administration area. When we put them in the wrong places it looks to new members like the most common conversation in Just Wanna Chat is about how much the board sucks. I will now bump another thread over this one and would suggest that anyone who wants to continue this conversation should do it in the Administration area.
Oh, and for the record, I actually like Matt's proposal because I am as guilty of that as anyone. Maybe a rule that you have to start another thread for the movie if you are going to post in Last Watched, and that all conversation about the movie should take place there rather than outright getting rid of the thread. It is long and has a lot of good conversation and memorable posts that I'd like to maintain. I am still a little sad that when we moved from the old HMAM we lost so many of those posts (especially now that some of those peeps no longer post here)

I guess I'll start using Matt's idea myself. Just place a list in Just Watched and then thoughts in the thread dedicated solely to the film.
