Just heard of a fantastic new band for us horror-fiends to look into, Puteraeon. They're from Sweden so you know they're good, and look at the following songtitles and tell me they're not into our kind of stuff: * The Plague * Castle Of Despair * Whispers Of The Dead * Into The Deep * Re-Animation * Graverobber * The Extraordinary Work Of Herbert West * Experience Zombiefication * Dead Once More * The Innsmouth Insanity * The End Of All All of which is set to come out on their debut 'The Esoteric Order,' though I don't have a release date. Coming from the Gothenburg area, Puteraeon caused quite a bit of a stir with its three demo CDs, "Fascination For Mutilation", "The Requiem" and "The Extraordinary Work Of Herbert West". Puteraeon was spawned in 2008 by mainman Jonas Lindblood (Taetre, Thorium), who states the following: "I started doing some riffs that took me back to my roots in death metal, the glorious early '90s!" In addition to Jonas (vocals, guitars), Puteraeon features Anders Malmström (Nominon, Prophanity, Immemorial, Inverted) on drums, Daniel Vandija (13ITCH) on bass and Hasse Gustafsson (13ITCH) on guitar. They're MySpace account, available HERE allows for some listening in to determine more.

Fucking cool shit, gotta love those Sweds, I always liked the different kind of sound of Swedish Death Metal, I don't play guitar so I cant describe the sound, but I'm sure you know what I mean. And you can understand the lyrics, which is always a bonus. Look forward to hearing the album.....

I've long held the belief that any group playing a style of music you're interested in that comes from Sweden or Germany is of automatic credibility, since I've yet to hear anything from the groups of those countries which suck. I listen to just about everything from those countries since you're guaranteed quality.
I just love Swedish Death Metal, that crunch and the bombastic-ness that comes along with their songs is just amazing. Just behind the first wave of Floridian groups in terms of sheer Death Metal brilliance.
And then there's the song titles, which I know are a part of what we're all about here.

I listened to a few samples of the music and I found it intolerable. I find that music of this kind instantly puts me in a worse mood than before I listened to it - the aggressive nature of the music has a disagreeable effect on my mood.

Yeah that's the best part, gets ya mad, allows to release your anger, nothing like listening to some good death metal and punch the walls in your room

Odd, I'm totally relaxed and calm listening to the most extreme stuff out there. I don't get really hyped up or destructive at all, it mostly just runs through me and I don't really get the urge to do anything much more extreme than headbanging or the occasional foot-tapping in sync with the beat.

Extreme music used to have the same effect on me. I would listen to it passively and enjoy it for what it was. But for some reason a transition occurred and I simply cannot tolerate it anymore.

I know what you mean. I went through a phase a few months ago where I found all I was listening to was Rhapsody, Gamma Ray and similar Power Metal acts and wasn't even touching my Black and Death Metal albums. I go in cycles, where some months all I want is Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Krisiun, others I find my Kamelot and Helloween albums more appealing.
