as soon as I pay money for it, I own it right then and there and can watch it the second I get home rather than a few weeks later. I guess it's just personal preference.I am not blessed with an over abundance of patience.... so typically I am the same way. Quite a bit of what I buy is on impulse. But a lot of what I want to own I am not going to find in the stores around here, so if I want it, I have to purchase it online. And I do find a lot better deals online. But between my paranoia about personal info online and my wanting it NOW...... attitude, I don't buy as much online as much as I probably should. But the lack of selection at local stores lately really bugs me, and now that the Movie Gallery stores are shutting down.....I will probably be shopping for my movies online a whole lot more.
Well, I do admit that patience is one of my better qualities (I waited 9 years to own a copy of The Beyond, since I wanted to see it ever since I first heard about it, but the damn thing went OOP print just before I got into horror hardcore enough to be interested in that kind of film) and I went out to the store the day it was released to ensure I would own it since I had waited long enough for it.
I guess I'm a little luckier since I live within a 30-minute drive radius of a Best Buy, FYE, Tower Records and a small, hole-in-the-wall video store, plus I'm an hour away from an Ameoba Record store so it doesn't really bother me to have to wait. Having sufficient funds is another issue, but usually waiting for one isn't.
