Well, if you never have......don't..... Talk about an incredibly frustrating online buying experience. They have NO clue what is going on. Its completely ridiculous. I ordered 6 used movies because we picked up an ad at local store that was closing down. It has a code for 25% off the total order and I figured why not? So I purchased a gift card from our bank and ordered them Saturday. Never received a confirmation email and it STILL says the order is processing. So I send them an email today. They have no record of my order (even though I have an account opened there and an order number)! And they have already charged the damn card. So I did a search, which I should have done BEFORE I placed the order, but I had always had good experiences with the Movie Gallery stores in the area and just didn't think about it. Apparently this is a VERY common thing. So now waiting, hoping to hear back from them about how they are going to fix this.

What assholes! No kidding, this has been the worst online shopping experience I've ever had. I finally heard back from one of them Friday who apologized and said they would be sending me shipping information that day. Never happened. I have since sent three more e-mails and haven't heard a word back. And the site still says the order is processing.

Sounds as bad as a ebay scam.

They finally sent me a confirmation email and a tracking number for the order a few minutes ago......hopefully the movies will be here soon. When (or if) they arrive I'm really hoping the order is right, and the movies are watchable..... Returns are probably a freakin' nightmare. Funny how when I just demanded my money back and said I would be taking all of my business elsewhere they were quick to resolve the issue, but were so very slow to respond before....hmmmm.... Of course I had to send the email to three different e-mail addresses to get a reply.....geez. Well, at least something was done.

For what it's worth, your experience served as a warning sign to me about possibly ordering from them. I have been tempted in the past because you really can't best those prices - but at what cost!?
Apparently at the cost of customer service.

This is precisely the reason why I don't shop online at all. I've got my own horror story about a place like that, which I'm not going into here, and it served me to always go to a store and physically buy it there. Yeah, I'll miss stuff from time-to-time, but I'll find it eventually. It's much more productive for me to spend years hunting something down but actually own it at that point rather than engaging in this such nonsense. I do feel for you, Jen, but that's why I do my shopping in person.

Well, to be fair GL, the majority of online transactions with reputable sellers and businesses go just as smoothly as brick and mortar stores, just with the added inconvenience of waiting for the item to ship.

Usually I doo well when it comes to Online shopping. I collect figures however and usually they go smoothly even if some are a bit overpriced.

Apparently at the cost of customer service. I know I will not be making any purchases from them again even if everything arrives in fine working order, its too much of a hassle to have to email them everyday and hope they sort it out. I'd rather pay a little extra. But I agree that most of my online shopping has gone pretty smoothly. I never have had problems like this with Deep Discount or Amazon. I've had to wait for orders for awhile because something was out of stock. But they never charge the card until my order has shipped to me, and if I have a question or concern they answer back quickly.

Well, this company sounds terrible, but I agree with 7 and Jen that online shopping can be alright when it is handled better by a more reputable company. in fact, while 7 is right that it can be annoying to wait for my items, ordering online saves me the hastle of getting up and going to the store. I often make my orders at times of the morning or night when the stores wouldn't be open. The selection is always better, because some online vendor somewhere has literally anything in the world you might want to buy, and the prices can be much lower if you are willing to shop around a bit

Well, the other thing with me is that, while I go into a store looking for something, I don't pin my whole trip on finding that one particular item, so if I don't find it, I'm perfectly happy picking up something else so that my trip wasn't a waste. Since I come home with something, I tend to think back fondly of it rather than with a hassle, and the other bonus for me is that, as soon as I pay money for it, I own it right then and there and can watch it the second I get home rather than a few weeks later. I guess it's just personal preference.

I am not blessed with an over abundance of patience.... so typically I am the same way. Quite a bit of what I buy is on impulse. But a lot of what I want to own I am not going to find in the stores around here, so if I want it, I have to purchase it online. And I do find a lot better deals online. But between my paranoia about personal info online and my wanting it NOW...... attitude, I don't buy as much online as much as I probably should. But the lack of selection at local stores lately really bugs me, and now that the Movie Gallery stores are shutting down.....I will probably be shopping for my movies online a whole lot more.

Hopefully it will work out Jen. I mostly buy from Amazon and have had few problems. Just got The Dark Knight on Blu Ray for $9.50. If I absolutely can wait I'll go to Best Buy, but they piss me of with with their outrageous blu Ray prices. Every movie they sell is at least $5 cheaper on Amazon and usually more than that. Literally every movie. And with all orders of $25 or more being shipped free, you can't beat that. I order movies nearly every week so the waiting isn't really an issue. You don't mind waiting a week for the movies you just ordered, when the movies you ordered last week just arrived. Keeps me satisfied anyway.
