Rate it 5 is the best, 1 is the worst.

I gave it a one. It was a remake of a classic film that simply did not need to be remade and really no film needs to be remade. Seemed like it was a MTv style remake made for the teenagers who think an old film is a film that was made in 1987. All the slicked up cinematography was really stupid, because the bad lighting and everything in the original was what added to the disturbing feel of it. I hated this film.

This is my favorite chainsaw movie. The first one was for along time, and was after I watched this movie too. After watching it about 15 times I find that I like alot more than I thought....Come to think of it I really can't pick which I like better. This one gets a 5 too.

Four from me. And it loses a point because, as LdC points out, the poor lighting and shaky camerawork of the original just added to the atmospherics. Other than that, when it comes to remakes, I have seen a lot, lot worse.

I give this one a 4 as well. It most definitely does not have a patch on the origianl, but it is far better than any of the other entries in the series. And it is one of the best remakes I've ever seen. Proof tht remakes don't have to suck. And R. Lee Ermey i wonderful as usual

a 3 from me.
i enjoyed the film to a degree , some great scenes which give it points , but the ending was sooooo disappointing i had to knock points off for that, the girl and baby should never have survived . KILL THEM ALL I SAY .....KILL THEM ALL! (hehehe)

The Wolf Creek approach to happy endings eh? Bit harsh mate... I rewatched it last night and reckon it will actually stand the test of time pretty well. In its favour one could argue that perhaps the characterisations are even a bit stronger and more fleshed out than in the original. Matter of highly subjective personal opinion of course.

While it's nowhere near as good as the original, I liked this alot. Cool looking Leatherface, some inventive deaths and gore, and some nice, disturbing imagery help rate this high in my book. It was definitely a hell of a lot better then The Next Generation.

I despise this film....not to put too fine a point on it...haha. To be fair, I probably wouldn't have liked it no matter what, because I love the original so much, and believe that is one of the most effective films ever made. This remake was pointless, completely unnecessary. The movie is too slick, too polished and is a complete bore. Okay, maybe not a COMPLETE bore. There was one good scene. But that isn't enough for me to give it more than a 1. All it went to show was how what little talent there was here was wasted.

I definitely don't think it was great at all, but I just can't completely hate a film with R. Lee Ermey. I love him way too much. Even if the rest of the film sucks, and this one kinda did, I will still enjoy the parts tht he is in
