Deserting from the Army, an officer heads to an old castle for sanctuary, but when the kindly old man who runs the place warns him away, he begins to see a ghostly figure of a woman running around the grounds and eventually stumbles upon a dreaded curse placed upon the family and must get away before he succumbs to it as well. What did everyone think of this one?

I have this on DVD, love Roger Cormens films, particularly those with Vincent Price, which were more then half of them. However this one is not as good as some of his others, I don't know what it is about it, but its just not up to the standards of House of Usher, Pit and the Pendulum, Witchfinder General (one of, if not the greatest Price movie).

It gets some points for being Jack Nicholson's first film, but boy does it stink

Only interesting because of Karloff and Nicholson. Mostly boring as hell in my opinion. So a 2 from me as well.

I'm going 3 here. The pace is a little off at times, the constant downplaying of the events there are quite troublesome and the endless shots of him just wandering around doing nothing but eat up time are quite needless, but the Gothic castle is outstanding, it moves along quickly when it needs to, and the finale is quite fun.
