Why haven't I started this thread yet?
I make no secret of the fact that I'm an unashamed fan of the franchise - part III is probably the most intense experience I've ever had in a cinema. I love the mix of brains and gore that these films offer, plus there's a little patriotism in the fact that the idea spawned from two young Aussie minds.
Anyhoo, I'm hoping that thge 3-D will add an extra ooomph to the film, if it can truly make me feel like I'm in the traps.
Can't wait.

I am embarassed to admit it, but I am a sucker for the 3-D gimick. Saw is by no means a bad series, but it is also not one of my favorites. I haven't seen one in the theater since Part 3. The 3-D angle will probably get me back in to see this one, though. I know that is lame. I know it will only encourage studios to overuse the 3-D gimick rather than simply rely on it for the films that will be significantly benefited by it. But I can't help it, lol

I've made no secret about the fact that people who like these films need to be removed from the breeding portion of our society if our species is to continue living on this planet, and adding in an unnecessary, overused, underwhelming gimmick like this one does no favors on my end.
I'll still watch it so that my IMDb comment page has no gaps, but that won't mean I'll own it at all.

I'm not a Saw fan (though I did kind of like part III and IV), I don't think they are bad necessarily (except I do absolutely hate the second one), just very disappointing and not nearly as smart as they think they are. But I do have to admit I'm like HNT. If there was a theater around here showing it in 3-D, I would probably go. But since there won't be, I probably won't be seeing this for awhile. I haven't even seen the last one.

The last one is one of the better sequels, with a nice commentary on the health system.

Okay.......didn't get to see this in 3D, but not sure that would have saved it. I thought this one finally went too far into the realm of the absurd. The whole thing felt forced and repetitive. And yes annoying bad guy, please involve yourself in love triangles now....you could at least kill interesting people.....wow..... So yes, I hated it, even more than I hated the second one.

yeah it was a disappointing end for me,except for the last revelation, which made perfect sense in the scheme of things. I would have preferred the finished it after 6.
