Judging by the pick order on the thread for it, it's Leatherface's turn but I have no clue if he's gonna show up. We'll let CT and HNT chime in on this issue, as they're the ones that handle it a lot more than me.

I think we should add Hider in this spot for now, because I want all regular posters to have a chance to participate and the rest of us have allocated locations. If Leatherface returns, we will work him in down the line, as there are other folks who I don't anticipate returning.

Yeah, that's kinda how I figured it would be. Hider, go ahead man and do your pick (just make sure it's something we've all seen, though, no August Underground or Emanuelle films, not the point of this) whenever you get a chance.

Yeah, it doesn't hgave to be something that we've all seen necessarily, but it should be mainstream enough that we can all get access to it if we choose to. But, you're no dummy and you knew that already

True, man, but I just felt it needed to be said anyway since he wasn't around when we started it. Like you put it, he should know that, but it still should've been said just in case.

August is just around the corner so we should get one going for next month. The pick can still go to Hider if he wants it but I notice he hasn't logged in for a few weeks. We'll give him a few days and then move to someone else if we don't hear from him.
And I apologize, I need to get my butt in gear and remember to do this so we can keep the name and not have to call it "Movie of the every once in a while" lol.

I'm kinda loosing the interest in this idea, man. Nobody's showing up regularly enough to make this worthwhile enough, and the ones we've done haven't generated any real discussion at all because we've all talked them to death before and don't expand on anything. We've all chimed in "Classic film, a 4/5 from me" and been done with it, and you aren't going to get much of anything if only four or five people say that on every thread we do. It's the summer time, we should be having more people show up regularly, so I don't know if this is just disillusionment or what, but the downtime we've had for our forum is going on for a couple months now and it's getting scary. Either we need to shelve this until we have about twenty members logging in every single day for a couple weeks or the idea for this as a whole.
That being said, I will continue to participate on this should we go further with it, but I think there should be more activity going on for something like this to go on. My thoughts, but whatever the rest of you guys decide to do is fine with me.

Good point, it may make sense to put it on hiatus. And don't get too down on our recent inactivity. Summer has always been our slow time. You'd think people would have more free time, but they actually don't because they fill their summer with stuff they've been waiting all year to do hehe.

Oh, that's right. We're the slow summer months. I was thinking of another forum I'm on that usually has a lot of activity during the summer months. Kinda got mixed up there for a second.

I think that this can continue. I like discussing movies with you guys. Anyone else that comes along is welcome to participate too, but I'm fine with you guys. its your opinions that I care about most anyway

As do I, man, it's one of the few things I still enjoy doing with my time, but to have a forum feature like this, which necessitates a lot of interest from the forum members to stay interesting throughout the course of it's run, only being participated in by four or five people because that's all who show up on a regular basis all giving one-line comments that don't say anything or prove as launching pads for discussion longer into the month, what's really the point of doing it when we have so few members logging in right now? I can't even remember the last time we had more than 10 members log in over a 24 hour period, much less do it for a consistent period of time which is something I feel a feature like this should require.
Cab we continue with this as it is? Absolutely, and like I said earlier, I'm more than happy to do so since I am here and I do like discussing movies with you guys. But if we're going to be doing something like this, I feel it may need to be put on hiatus until we have a more consistent quantity of people showing up regularly. That's all.

I'm not sure I agree with that, man. Look at the Prowler thread. Everyone jumped in and participated, and I thought we got into interesting discussions of Savini's effects, compared it to his exploding head effects from DOTD ('78) and Maniac, and discussed the strange ending. We had a conversation about whether we like mystery kiillers or whether they are a waste. What else can be discussed about that movie? Not a whole lot IMHO. Some movies get bigger responses than others, but that is more on anyone who makes an unpopular choice than it is on the idea itself being weak. I've picked movies that got little response and some that wound up generating multiple page threads. I think the idea is sound.

Perhaps you have a point and it's more about the fact that I put up twenty threads in a month and maybe two of them get more than one response, or it could be that was the exception and not the rule. I don't know yet, but there is a valid point in there.

Thanks, man. I dunno. I like the fact that you post threads about all of the movies you've seen and sometimes I comment on them when I know something about the film. You see a lot of low budget obscure stuff, though, so it isn't too surprising that most of us haven't seen a lot of it. Often, your posts are where I learn about these movies, and I even seek out some of them and have watched them based on your recommendations
