They play hockey in Canada? Get out of here! Wow, I've seen better attempts at shock and surprise from porn stars learning that a 10-inch dick can exist off a movie set.

Not as surprised as I am that Lebron is on his way to a championship WITHOUT CLEVELAND

No, not really. With the right lubricants, extension pills, lighting and other factors, I can get it to a solid 5 1/2 inches. Back to baseball, with the All-Star game coming up, who from your team do you feel is the most deserving to go to the game? Maybe not start it (unless you can make a case for that) but at least make an appearance there.

Joey Votto without a doubt. He'll be an MVP candidate as well.

While I can't complain about those two choices, HNT, you don't think Dickey should be there? He should be the starter after all that he's done (well, it's down to either him or Gio Gonzales from Washington) so that's a little surprising to hear him omitted.
I can't fault Votto either, but again, you don't think Phillips should be there? That'd be a lot of fun to see him go there.
As for my choices, I'd like to see Capuano and Ellis go there, though I figure on Kershaw getting the nod and Ellis squeezed due to too catchers going already.

Yeah, I'd like to see Phillips there as well. He was second in the voting last I heard. Do you guys vote? I have once this year but always forget that you can vote multiple times.

Dickey slipped my mind. Yeah, I would agree that he should be included as well. He would be an excellent choice to start the game for the NL, but I don't know if it will happen that way.

Hey, CT, sorry about Arroyo's failed no-hitter, but WTF was up with Chapman's celebration? Is that how they celebrate saves in Cuba, or did he just lose a bet and have to do that out there?

Yeah I was watching that and really hoping for the no-hitter but at least we picked up the win after Arroyo lost the lead. We had an abysmal week last week so hopin' we turn it around.
As for Chapman, he should not have done that and I don't think he ever will again. He's been chewed out big time for it Im sure.

Well, thank goodness we finally got over the lack of runs, 33 innings before scoring. I just think this stretch highlights what I've known for a long time: Joe Maddon has screwed this game up far more than anyone will care to admit. There's a reason they're called role players and not starters: they play a supporting role in the team's success, spelling regulars occasionally but not everyday. The starting eight (maybe seven, since I don't see many catchers doing should this) should, baring injuries, be out there a minimum of 150 games each, at that one set position. A team doesn't win with three guys in the same position and the other five or six shared by ten different guys every day. That's not the way the game is designed, that's not the way it's been played by the last 150 years, and that's not the way it's going to win in the future. Unfortunately, that's the way the Dodgers are built right now. They're trying to model themselves after the Rays to have the flexibility of different guys playing all over the place, but the problem is that the whole team is built that way. Granted, I'd love to see upgrades at both third and first (Uribe never fit in the first place and Loney's worn out my welcome last year year with his struggles and lack of power at that position) but the majority of the team is built with role players not starters. Even the guys being brought up from the minors are that way, and that's because of the Rays influence in drafting the kinds of players that can do that. It needs to stop and soon. Joe Maddon has been lucky so far, not good.

So, now that we've learned the All-Star game participants (minus the pitchers who are going to be starting the Sunday before and who gets to replace them) your thoughts on the roster/s? Glaring omissions? Wrong guy starting/sitting on the bench? Opinions welcome.
