I've never seen any of these movies. Not sure why, I'll probably get them eventually. What do you guys think of them?

Wow, you need to check out the original asap. It was one of the better movies of the early to mid 90's and had groundbreaking effects (for the time). The sequels blew though, skip them.

I actually say skip the entire series, even the original. Every time I watch them, it lowers my rating of them to the point of being incredibly frustrated with the series as a whole.

The first is adequate. The rest are not. None of them is really great.

Loved the first one (it was a fantastic theater experience for me, and I still watch it about once a year), liked the second one, but, for the most part, pretty indifferent to the the third one.

I'm with Jen, the original is a 90's classic.

Part one was good not great, good popcorn flick but if you have a big screen and a good surround sound it makes the experience more enjoyable I actually want to get it on Blu Ray but dont want to have to buy all three in a set even though I did kinda like 3 I mean come on Mr. Noodle from Elmos World was in it!!!!

You know, for a film supposedly overseen by a Paleontologist, there's way too errors on the Dinosaurs themselves in the original for me to really call it a great film, much less a 90s classic.

I actually remember having a similar discussion with you a while back about this movie. While I agree that it isn't great, I think that is mostly becuase it eschews character development in favor of flashy effects. I don't know that realism in the dinosaurs is something that I particularly expected or cared about from a summer blockbuster like this. And, to be honest, I think it is a little strange that someone who enjoys "Sharktopus" and stuff like that on SciFi would be worried about scientific accuracy in this creature feature.

There's a difference: in Sharktopus, they never give you the specifics of how it came about, this one does. If they simply said "biogenetic engineering," I wouldn't have a problem because you're not forcing me to evaluate what's there. It's only what they give me, and this gave me everything from where it was found to the processes used step-by-step to how they wound up there. None of it's truthful, actually, but the fact remains that it was all given. Sharktopus never had any of those aspirations, therefore I don't have to worry about it.

You guys got me so confused I don't know what to do. I think I might like them. Well, then you definitely know what to do. Watch them and make up your own mind. They certainly are not the kind of movies that you'll absolutely hate and be sorry you saw them. You'll either like them or be indifferent to them. And, considering the first one is a Spielberg film, I am fully of the opinion that it deserves a watch so you can make up your own mind.

I never went to see them because I thought they looked ridiculous in the trailers.
